South Korea could sell 72 K2 main battle tanks to Oman

Who would attack Oman for anything at all? Their oil reserves are not much, if you ignore the per capita oil output due to their low population.

Oman could have seriously invested this amount in getting 4 times more APCs and IFVs for that amount of money, which would allow their military to get more road mobile and agile.

But then again, Oman is a country which has no enemies; It has cordial ties with both Iran and Saudi Arabia as well as now Israel.
Ironically 35-40% of Omani citizen are of Pakistani origin... specially true for their army which is recruited directly and indirectly from Pakistan even today..

Just sharing some interesting facts.

They have money to throw around.

Any country which is not ready to fight for its freedom doesn't deserve freedom in first place and should not cry when out of the blue some one attacks them

It really depends on what you mean by fight. Omanis are not looking for a fight and that doesn't mean that they are weak. Switzerland was also neutral in WW2, and yet using German and British fighter jets that it bought, it downed jets of both these countries invading its own airspace.

Oman is realistic in trying to focus on a cordial, trade-oriented environment around itself and is focused on giving a good life to its citizens.

I don't think that is cowardice in any way.

Why don't they just upgrades for their M-60 tanks and put in new turret of 120 mm and new fire control system. APS added would make them even better. Challenger 2 is still fairly relevant. Personally I would change the gun to a NATO standard so that I could have more shared armament and better performance on tank rounds. You guys don't seem to recognize that enemies can arise from nowhere. You guys also don't seem to know they are buying the tanks probably for Arab NATO. They would probably use the tanks in case of them attacking Iraq or some other country. K2 Black Panthers are top of the line tanks that are proably top 3-4 tank right now in terms of capability.

show us what is more advanced?

hydraulic suspension, autoloader, better drive performance, better fire control with lock on target capability with tracking radar, better armor pack, better engine, for sure higher build quality and reliability... The Altay is a K2 with autoloader removed and replaced by human loader which increase the weight of the chassie by whopping 10to because the space of the loader needs armor protection and all the high tech stuff stripped out of the tank... Korea has tonnes more expereince...

Tanks are untested. I would personally prefer the m1a3 Abrams. The same way the T-14 is untested. 1000 tanks built is not enough though for the Altay.

Germany had more tank than Russia at the beginning of Kursk, that's because they delayed Battle of Kursk to fill the number of tank in order to make the Assault, but at the same time, this delay give more time to the Russian to lay out a better defensive line anticipating the German Assault.

What win the Battle of Kursk for the Russian is not because they have more tank (They do have more over the middle point of the battle) What win the war for the Russian is their air support couple with the number of anti-tank guns position (they have around 25,000 of AT Gun) and trenches that they were able to deploy using that delay.

In terms of Armoured Warfare, German won the Tank Battle, if I remember correctly, German lost around 1000 tanks (1/5 of its total strength of ~5000) while Russia lost around 5 to 6000 tanks out of the total 12,000 (Which is about 50% or 1/2 casualty)

seriously do some research

from the first day of the war USSR had far more tanks than Germany...
The cloosest Germany ever come to Russian numbers was by end of 1941 as Germany destroyed the Red Army from some 22.000tanks at war start to 7.000 tanks by end of 1941...there the number was close to 1:2 for the USSR...

Numbers at battle of Kursk

strength at battle start
Tanks and assult guns
Germany 2.465
USSR 4.938

Artillery
Germany 7.400
USSR 31.450

aircraft
Germany 1.372
USSR 3.648

soldier
Germany 778.907
USSR 1.910.361

loses
USSR 2.000 tanks
Germany 252 tanks
USSR 178.000 soldier killed
Germany 54.000soldier killed
USSR 1.961 aircraft lost
Germany 159 aircraft lost

the russian propaganda build up the mythos that the German Army lost it tank force in the battle of Kursk... the lack of fuel oil throughout the war from day one to the last day never allowed the German Wehrmacht to unleash the full potential, there was always a shortage of fuel, lack of quality oil.... and it is the reason Germany did not build more tanks, which it could have easy done... but there would be no fuel to drive them...

There is no M1A3... the most modern tank is the M1A2 SEP now with Tropy...

They will never build 1000 Altay as much as Russia nver build 2.300 T-14 .... modern tanks are simple to expansive...

Better tracking radar? WTF are you talking about, Altay will be equiped with auto loader, the rest of your statement is empty. Altay will have Pulat active protection system and later AKKOR, ther is nothing more advanced then the Altay. Like i told you, you have empty words.

Saw the altay wikipedia page. Says 1000 in 4 batches of 250.

lol dude the Altay has human loader no auto loader...the Altay is not advance in any respect it was build under the help of south Korea... the fact that u did not even know that the Altay has human loader shows that u know NOTHING

The same wiki that claim russia will buy 2300 T-14.... no comment...

Turkey has not the money to buy high tech equipment in huge numbers...this is the main reasoan why till today their huge by numbers tank fleet is still build up by early to late cold war tanks... M-48, M-60, Leo1 and some Leo2 A4 is no impressive stuff... next to the fact that the most modern tank currently in service in the turkish armed forces were delivered nearly cost free from Germany as Nato member support... The Leo2 A4 in the turkish armed forces is technical level of 1985 (I serviced this tank as a young dude 30years ago!!!)...and represent till today their most modern tank... it was phased out in Germany in 1995... 23 years ago...and even the successor of the Leo2 A4 the A5 is today totaly phased out in the German Army since years...

Lol dude, you should give sources for your empty words. What is more advancer then the Altay? The K2 don't have hard kill protection against ATGM and Altay will have the Pulat. The ignorancy in you brains make you outdated, the first prototype don't have auto loader. But the the first batch of 250 tanks will have auto loader.
