South Asia Pakistan Terminal Karachi

No. It's not right.

There are lot of container yards near Port Qasim. And it also handling container ships.

Nop I believe its the largest of all terminals in South Asia , thus named as such.
I work there and i know a little about it there are only 3 container terminals in karachi or Pakistan except gwadr other container terminals are off dock or you can say terminals without shore , SAPT is largest of them and also its unique because its deep water container terminal its max depth is 18 meters whereas other terminals merely have a depth of 13-14 meters thus it will also serve large mother vessels also only one part of Sapt is completed right now there will be 2 more parts. This is a part of CPEC and it will be used as transshipment port. Hope this makes sense

The largest sea port in Pakistan, the Pakistan Deep Water Container Port (PDWCP) has started operations.

The port accommodated its first container ship, APL Japan, on Friday. According to official sources, the ship docked at Berth No. 4 at 3 pm. The ship was here to transport export cargo and was supposed to load 1000 twenty foot equivalent units.

The PDWCP is bound to play a vital role in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor.

The New Port Can Hold Bigger Ships
The vessel’s draft length was 12 meters while its overall length was 262 meters. However, the PDWCP can accommodate much bigger ships.

How big we’re talking about here? The port has a designed draft of 18 meters with an operational draft of 16 meters. Which means that it can also handle mother ships.

Additional Details
The PDWCP is located at Kemari groyne east of Karachi Port.

The ship, APL Japan, docked at Karachi International Container Terminal at the West Wharf. It unloaded import cargo at the Karachi dock first then moved to the PDWCP to load up on export cargo.

APL Japan came from Jebel Ali port in Dubai and left for China on Saturday 2 pm. It will head to China after going through the Colombo Port in Sri Lanka.

Sources say that a small ship was deliberately selected for testing due to safety factors. They also said that PM Nawaz Sharif will officially inaugurate the port in the third week of January.

Under International Administration
South Asia Pakistan Terminals (SAPT) is owned and operated by Hutchison Ports of Hong Kong. They have invested $600 million for the port. The company has brought in its equipment as well which includes 5 ship to shore gantry cranes.

Three buildings for administration, customs and canteen have also been completed. A power plant with a 28 megawatt capacity is also at the ready.

In the first phase of development of the port, the company has constructed berths no. 3 and 4. Meanwhile, berth no. 1 and 2 will be completed in the second phase of development.

PDWCP can handle 3.1 million twenty foot equivalent units per year and has a storage yard which can hold up to 550,000 of the same.

I fail to see how this terimal will help Pakistan's literacy rate which is at 60% ????
I recall a story we read in Primary school in Pakistan, ''A man in a remote village visits the doctor complaining about stomach pains, the doc after checking him out prescribes some eye drops for him, the patient somewhat dismayed queries the doc about what do eye drops have to do with stomach cure ??....The doc humbly explains to him that had your eyes been functioning properly then you wouldn't have been consuming under cooked food.
Moral of the story is to fix one thing you may need to address something else.
