I actually agree with this statement, nothing can change the reality on the ground in Xinjiang, Xinjiang is still going to be peaceful, stable, prosperous and fast development, well on its way to become the most modern region, the hub of finance, technology, transportation, education, medicine...basically the center of everything in central Asia, this development is unstoppable.

You don't seem to know much about their population size and growth, Uighurs are one of the fastest growing ethnic groups in China, with the growth rate as high as 19.88% , Uighurs doubled their population from 6 million to 12 million in less than 3 decades.

That's basically what will happen. Don't forget that most of the state apparatus in Xinjiang are manned by Uighurs employed by the Chinese state.

Err... no way. Before my first trip to US, my impression of US was a violent place full of muggers out to get your money.
UK turned out to be more unfriendly, conservative than expected. Heck, Shenzhen even back in the 1990s was a shock to me. Bangkok central business district looks even more modern than Singapore.
Being there in person seeing and feeling the atmosphere can never be replaced by any video.
If base on video, what do you think my impression of Pakistan is ?
