Soldier martyred in cross-border firing from Afghanistan

today

RAWALPINDI:

A lance naik of the Pakistan Army was martyred after terrorists opened fire from across the Afghanistan border at a security post in Bajaur district, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday.

According to the military’s media wing, Lance Naik Sami Ullah was martyred in the incident.

The attack takes place two weeks after three security personnel were martyred and eight others got injured after terrorists opened fire at them during a routine patrolling near Gichak Valley in the Panjgur district of Balochistan.

Earlier, four terrorists had been killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Boyya area of North Waziristan, the ISPR had said.

. .
what happened to all the tanks that they moved to the borders?

The armed forces should take my suggestion and occupy the tallest peaks near the border, so there's a natural protection from afghan firing and infiltration, while you can observe or attack them whenever you want. Only issue I see is carrying resources uphill, but then again, we've faced much worse.

Allah bless our shaheed.

It seems the TTP are taking pot shots with impunity with the ANA doing nothing. When counter fire comes they cry foul.

I've seen pictures of these militants opposite Bajaur - well-equipped and use marksmen to carry out such attacks. Kind of started after the Sind Regt subaltern was hit in Rajgal back in '17. now it's their standard MO since the FC has tightened stuff at the border.
