Unlike Australian Cricket teams, Rugby Union has always been more accommodating not on quota's mind you solely on their talent and ability

Infact the new playing jersey unveiled at the last match against the AB's (Mind you we beat convincingly but the Boks have'nt even come close to ) Is done in Aboriginal art design to symbolize it, Perhaps that gave the boys a moral boost

Oh no doubt, The Maori never surrendered nor conquered by the colonists, They just agreed to share the sovereignty with the British monarch, Which eventually the Whites went back on the agreement as they anyway do.. So they fought for their rights from the beginning of NZ being colonized

The Aboriginals on the other hand were less organized as a nation and given that the large extent of land they lived in made them easy to subdue

Australia is making progress in reconciliation with it's indigenous people though rather late, Some strides have been made which include a official apology from the federal govt for the crimes they committed against the native people, But yeah long long way to go
