Security experts lay out parameter security measures for Universities and Schools under threat from terrorism.

All Universities or Schools deemed under threat by Intelligence services must be protected by Snipers & Sharp Shooters armed with thermal range finders during study hours. We were able to prevent a great number of casualties during BKU attack because the terrorists were tracked, engaged and neutralized by Snipers. Further casualties can be prevented if the attackers are engaged upon entering the premises or beyond the boundary wall.

The university security forces should be trained to work in coordination with the Snipers. The campus security should have quad-copters (Not very expensive to buy) for remotely monitoring the outside parameter of the campus for possible infiltration points and to support the security forces to swiftly track, designate, engage and neutralize the infiltrators BEFORE they can reach the campus buildings.

Mock drills should be coordinated with the students and staff so they know what to do in a crisis situation like we experienced at BKU campus. The students, staff, campus security and Police should have a SINGLE training program so their response is in a coordinated manner instead of a disorderly manner which tactically suits the attackers.

These measures do not guarantee zero casualties during such attacks but they do ensure that our casualties are reduced while the casualties for attackers are swift and decisive. Engaging the attackers upon entering the campus slows them down which buys more time for SSG to arrive on the scene to dispatch them to hell.

.
Counterproductive
Why aren't we working on better policing instead. That security layer is already neutered.
If any sniper got compromised the outcomes will be disastrous.

.
Atleast 10 Ak-47 should be provided to male teachers apart from the security personel, i think every campus can bear this expense easily, snipers and govt security cannot be provided to every institution

Too expensive.
And also not practical enough.
Instead of fighting defensive war, why don't fight offensive war?
Uproot terrorism by engaging terrorists elite at their safe houses and also those who are manipulating them.
Problem solved.......

Remember

YOU CANNOT PROTECT ALL YOUR SCHOOLS FROM COMMANDO BASED TERRORIST ATTACKS.........

You have to engage them before they manage to hit your institutes......

.
What a nonsense ...??? Who these security experts are ...surely they are those old fossils who have climbed up the 'seniority' ladder ...who eat samosa on daily basis and know nothing about counter-terrorism ...!
Improve proactive intelligence ...disrupt the network which is there in the Afghanistan ...snipers and copters ...Lolzzzzm!

.
next time they will promise one military tank for each university . Vote bank false promises always fails to produce anything productive .

.
It's a need in the short term, but more security does nothing in the way of a long term solution.

.
Its not a solution, there are thousands of schools.

Solution is to stop being a mr nice guy, adopt their strategies, infiltrate and destroy their networks. If poorly trained idiots can do this then army with so many resources can do it 100 times better. Rescue their next generation, kids who have to follow their father's evil ways even if they dont want to or are not yet mature to differentiate between good and bad. Educate them and get them a job instead of them sitting around idle.

All these steps requires govt to be active but as we all have seen its no where to be found and leaves everything to army and amazingly stupid people criticize army for not doing elected politician's job.

Produces more questions that answers. Who thought up this security proposal? Sgt. Bilko?

1. Layered security is different for each type of asset you are protecting, the typography, the resources, the infrastructure, budgetary and operational integration and sustainability.
2. Sniper training is not some short course you can take online, a good competent sniper can take several years to shape and then comes the issue of the arming, maintenance, rotation, and sustainability of these snipers. Who foots the bill? Surely the education department can't even afford spare chairs for students, let alone sniper training.
3. You cannot provide 360 degree CCTV coverage, the tendering, CATV/Co-Axiel or IP infrastructure is limited at present.
4. Mock drills are a very good idea, however there is a vast difference between law enforcement training and awareness training for staff and students.
=========================================================================================
1. Predictive Analysis
2. Awareness Training and drills
3. Promoting citizen observers similar to the "First Observer Program".
4. Information sharing and creation of fusion centres.
5. EPS/CTD to be assigned to high risk duties rather than sitting on VIP security detail[1]

Better stay out of this Rookie, if you don't have anything logical to say.

.
too expensive... they target universities because its easy target... the target will simply move to schools, hospitals, banks, parks or other easy targets and you cant possibly put a sniper everywhere..
I dont believe the idea that talibans are against western education hence they attack educational institutions..

there are thousands of schools. collages and universities and this is not very much effective in case of universities as universities are large and there are thousands of people are roaming here and there..

any not you are going to kill those bastards at their place and why so much incompetency is being shown in for killing those bastards at their homes...

. .
i have better option .. Kick afghani's Tajik and Uzbeks out and nuke Afghanistan ..
My Dad worked with some US Generals when he was on UN Peace Keeping Mission. He told me that all of those generals had same opinion of Nuking Afghanistan to end militancy.
