And what happens if the batsman hits the ball which gets wedged in his pad and he runs off to the boundary line? A six? A four? A no ball? Similar logic to the one hitting the helmet should apply to this one! I would say, six!

That doesn't make sense to me.

There is a rule in cricket that......

If someone on the fielding side (mostly wicket keeper and fielders on the slip) places his helmet behind the wicket keeper and the stroke played by the batsman is stopped by that helmet then the batsman is awarded 5 runs even if the ball was travelling very slow (Keep in mind fielders can only place their helmet behind wicket keeper).
