Slum free india in five years

Instead of advocating for a better education system for your native country, you think the right way is to rob people of their basic human rights. Way to go!

Nothing is being taken away from them that they already have. They alraedy live worse than sub-humans and they will continue to do so unless their skills and abilities are improved.

Haha this project has no pros but only cons. Infact it is one big CON.

A bunch of builders are grabbing the land to build highrise apartments and commercial buildings, and they will allot a small portion of the land to build cheap highrise towers which will be distributed among slumdwellers.

These slumdwellers who have no idea how to live in flats and what to do with them will either sell them off and move to another slum or turn the whole area into a vertical slum. The cottage industries in the slums which sustain them will be gone and they will be unemployed and become a menace to society.

my dear friend, if they dont know how to live in flats that dosnt mean they can never learn to live in flats or their children are not allowed to have these rights as well.

about selling the flats is the con which need to be overcome, i mean they should not be allowed to sell or rent these flats so ultimately they have to live in them. as i mentioned earlier, implementation is one important step, how strictly it is implemented and how strictly it has been managed and how well the shortcomings are managed which come afterwards etc?

every country has flats and houses made for these kind of people of their country. in japan they have flats for the people having less than average income and people they lived in it. in US, i dont know for sure but they must have houses or flats for these kind of people to stay at night dont you? so doing this kind of thing in india or pakistan or any other under developing country should also work, isnt it? dosnt US have corruption, i mean i am not comparing pakistan or india with US but is US corruption free?

regards

sincerely

yes, we'll start with you :butcher:
:rofl::rofl::rofl:
That was awesome dude and a much deserved one too.

Gee, some people have the habit of looking into the negative side of everything. You blame the govt when it does nothing. You blame it again when it actually tries to do something productive. Yes its very important to educate the slum dwellers and specially the young kids growing up in slums. But its also important to give them a good shelter to live. Both must go hand in hand.

The five year time line is nothing but a media gimmick but its certainly a good step in right direction. I would say a small step, but an important one.

Why can't they sell the flats? Private property no?

Where will they work? How will they travel from their posh apartment to their "workplace" without car or bus?

The whole thing is unsustainable. It will never work. Mark my words and come back here in 5 years and see if any of these CON SCHEMES have worked.

So in order to polish their skills and abilities, you think sterilizing would be a better choice?

In my opinion, the government should spend more on the education sector and make sure that everyone gets a chance to afford basic education. Where you have an educated society, you're going to have a prosperous future in the long term.

I'm sure you wish well for your people and want to see them emerge as an intelligent and a successful nation, but your ideas to achieve that are a bit flawed.

Nobody has been able to explain why Eugenics is "flawed" except for making allegations about Nazi and Hitler.

Why should the reproduction be considered a fundamental right?

The laws need to be amended to ensure that only those who can prove that they have the income, skills and intelligence to raise quality children are allowed to give birth.

that flat is and will and should remain the indian property so that can not be sold. it is like this in japan and in US, isnt it?

about work, i have mentioned earlier many times about voccational institutes, free good quality education for children (compulsory) and health services. kindly see my previous posts. work and work place, immediate solution (temporary) is to include them in building the flats for themselves and other construction work which will be massive in amount (already mentioned in my previous posts). for permanent solution are the vocational institutes.

about cons scheme wont work, i said earlier, may be they do not succeed 100% but if you can eliminate only 10% slums in 5 years time isnt it an achievement. that means a large number of slum people s standard has been raised. atleaset i do not consider it to be a complete failure and if india continue it will keep this project running in future becoming better.

What income levels do you have in mind?

Define 'skills'.

Define 'intelligence'.

Also define 'quality' children.

I guess, by 'intelligence' and 'income' you mean any intelligence and income that's lower than yours?

:frown:

Well I haven't compared you to the Nazi's (So far). I understand where you're coming from but let's get real, you're not dealing with a small amount of people here. India is the second largest country in the world by population. Religion dominates the region and somehow you think that robbing people of their "Fundamental" right, is the absolute solution to solve poverty, backwardness, and Low IQ's? If you think reproduction shouldn't be a basic right, then I suppose you should first work hard to eliminate religion from your society because where there's religion, there's a concept of "Family". How would you manage to change the perceptions and opinions of a billion people?

Reproduction is a fundamental right for all human beings. If the average "Low IQ" citizen isn't given the right to reproduce, who's going to work 24/7 in your fields? Your factories that pay less than 2 dollars for the whole day's work? Your mechanics with dirt cheap minimum wages? I can go on and on but I'm sure you get the idea.

firstly, i never said you hitler or nazi but my opinion is that it is not a must that a child born to afamily living below average or a child who do not go to university can not be a reponsible and successfull person in the society. there are many but here is one example:

Henry Ford, the son of farmer, was born in Greenfield, Michigan on 30th July, 1863. He left school at 15 to work on his father's farm but in 1879 he moved to Detroit where he became an apprentice in a machine shop. To help him survive on his low wages he spent his evenings repairing clocks and watches.

During this period Ford read an article in the World of Science about how the German engineer, Nicholas Otto, had built a internal combustion engine. Ford now spent his spare time trying to build a petrol-driven motor car. His first car, finished in 1896, was built in a little brick shed in his garden. Driven by a two-cylinder, four-cycle motor, it was mounted on bicycle wheels. Named the Thin Lizzie, the car had no reverse gear or brakes.

By August, 1899, Ford had raised enough money to start his own company. His first group of investors withdrew after Ford had spent $86,000 without producing a car that could be sold. Eventually he produced a car that appeared at the Grosse Pointe Blue Ribbon track at Detroit. Its performance helped him to sell 6,000 $10 dollar shares in his new company.

This also ended in failure and in June, 1903, he found twelve more people willing to invest a total of $28,000 in another motor company. Ford now began production of the Model A car. The car sold well and the company flourished and by 1907 the profits reached $1,100,000. In 1909 Ford took the decision to manufacture only one type of car, the Model T.

Initially it took 14 hours to assemble a Model T car. By improving his mass production methods, Ford reduced this to 1 hour 33 minutes. This lowered the overall cost of each car and enabled Ford to undercut the price of other cars on the market. Between 1908 and 1916 the selling price of the Model T fell from $1,000 to $360.

On the outbreak of the First World War in Europe, Ford soon made it clear he opposed the war and supported the decision of the Woman's Peace Party to organize a peace conference in Holland. After the conference Ford was contacted by America's three leading anti-war campaigners, Jane Addams, Oswald Garrison Villard, and Paul Kellogg. They suggested that Ford should sponsor an international conference in Stockholm to discuss ways that the conflict could be brought to an end.

Ford came up with the idea of sending a boat of pacifists to Europe to see if they could negotiate an agreement that would end the war. He chartered the ship Oskar II, and it sailed from Hoboken, New Jersey on 4th December, 1915. The Ford Peace Ship reached Stockholm in January, 1916, and a conference was organized with representatives from Denmark, Holland, Norway, Sweden and the United States. However, unable to persuade representatives from the warring nations to take part, the conference was unable to negotiate an Armistice.

After the war Ford became increasingly interested in politics. He joined the Democratic Party and in 1918 was narrowly defeated when he failed to win a seat in the U.S. Senate.

In the 1920s the Ford Motor Company continued to grow rapidly. In 1925 Ford was producing 10,000 cars every 24 hours. This was 60 per cent of America's total output of cars. However, his decision not to bring out new models allowed other companies to challenge his dominance. By 1927 Ford had sold over 15,000,000 Model T cars. However, sales were on the decline and the General Motors's Chevrolet was the current best-selling car.

In the 1930s Ford opposed Franklin D. Roosevelt and the New Deal. He refused to recognize the United Automobile Workers Union and used armed police to deal with industrial unrest.

Ford had a stroke in 1938 but returned to run the company after his son, Edsel Ford, died in 1943. Although initially an opponent of the USA becoming involved in the Second World War, after Pearl Harbour, Ford turned over his vast production resources to his country. For example, the Ford plant at Willow Run produced over 8,000 Liberator bombers during the war. Henry Ford died on 7th April, 1947.

Yes I realize that eugenics is not practical in this world given the sentiment against it.

Which is why I suggest that India and Indians recognize that China is the new master of the world, and sort out all problems with them before it is too late.

What? HItler again? Are you guys in love with Hitler or something that you keep repeating his name??
Hitler tried to exterminate the Jewish race. This has NOTHING to do with Hitler.
This is a very benign process by which the overall IQ of India can be improved. Its called Eugenics.

We know its called "Eugenics" that why you keep hearing hitlers name.
Nazi eugenics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You lay the emphasis on nature rather then nuture being the main reason why people turn out being poor or having a low IQ.
Nature has more to do with physical attributes but nuture is the main force that determines our social-economic-education levels.
Shall we start with "exterminating" all the handicapped humans first becauce they must have "defective" genes and there cant be "polluting" the rest of the gene pool?
In certain instance we can use DNA for the postive,If there is the likelyhood that after DNA testing that a certain illness could occur if two certain people where to get married and have children then the couple should be told of the risk and discouraged.
If a really good artist had a low IQ would you get rid of him also?...self made millionares.

.
GOD - again with the nazis and the extermination. do you even read my posts? When did I talk about killing anyone?

And you're wrong - mental abilities just like physical appearance is largely dependent on genetic factors. Go look it up in any scientific book or ask your college professor.

@ topic
India is a third world country to the core...we've come a long way...but 5years is too short a time-scale.
Dharavi is a reality and there are many more...we've seen sustained development without seeing an elaborately increased spending on civil infrastructure...it's not a bad thing actually...I mean the glitter would come later.

Government wants states to submit slum-free city plans - dnaindia.com

New Delhi: Moving steadily on its promise to make India a slum free country over the next five years, the government has asked all states to come forward with their slum-free city plans so that adequate funding can be provided to them for the projects. The government plans to launch the Rajeev Gandhi Awas Yojna (RAY) for the urban poor shortly under which incentives and funding will be provided to the states under Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission to remove shanties.

However, for their slum-free plans the states would need to prepare appropriate legislations for assigning property rights to the slum dwellers, provide them with dwellings and relocate them in a permanent structure with all sanitation facilities. The states can partner with the private players for this scheme.

The states have been asked to prepare a database of slums for implementation of the RAY. The HUPA ministry has released funds for this socio-economic survey in 394 class one cities having more than one lakh population in the country.

"The states must commit that they are going to be slum-free in next five years and that there would be no future growth of slums," said Selja Kumari, minister for housing and urban poverty alleviation.

All schemes for affordable housing through partnership and for interest subsidy for urban housing would be dovetailed into RAY. The planning commission has given in-principle acceptance sto this plan. Within each city, theseidentified slums will be taken up for redevelopment with basic and civic infrastructure.
