Russia plans to buy several billion dollars worth of such products from China in the next 2-2.5 years, until the Russia industry begins manufacturing electronic components of the necessary nominals in the space (radiation-resistant components) and military (for use in military systems) categories.

So whatever the plan was it has already happened or is behind schedule.
BTW It is rather amazing they were buying military equipment from us in the first place.

There's nothing to worry, Russia has thousands of nukes and China probably in between 1000-3000. We are developing the train nukes, have mobile nukes and also possesses the capability to launch from subs. Now need to add the number. If US is that crazy to nuke us, our combined arsenal will more than enough send the Yankees to hell with us.

China needs to continue to develop nuclear capability and also reinforce de facto security alliance with its most important strategic partner in the world.

To this end, new realms must be considered such as the outer-space and the Arctic. This is not to say that China would actually start and Arctic or space arms race but it needs to have the capability, technology and manufacturing ability at the first instance of defection from treaties/conventions by the US (Besides, there is no convention-IL to manage/regulate the use of the Arctic. At the moment, whoever is capable and "willing" would defiantly be able to launch Arctic militarization).

John Pilger's documentary revealed that the US actually gave the order to nuke China (and perhaps DPRK as well) from Okinawa during the height of the Cold War. Luckily some rational officer forced the rest to stand down and told them to ignore the diabolic order. Americans

I was watching a CCTV documentary today about gun valance in the US and an ex-FBI officer was telling the CCTV reporter that a high number of US people are suffering from mental illness and the availability of gun triggers the violent symptoms. Consider that the US is a warlike country and has a huge number of mentally disturbed/imbalanced ex-soldiers some of whom might assume very high positions, such as McCain. Having destructive nuclear capability under the potential control of such mentally retarded/challenged people would lead to a disregard of a MAD situation.

It is therefore very important to ensure not only second strike capability, but enough deterrence again first strike.

I think Russia just announced a complete coverage of the nation against potential US nuclear attack.

@Martian2 , excellent thread; hope to read more of your strategic analyses.

No country on Earth is dumb enough to start a direct war against EITHER China or Russia.
You forgot about India. Are they smart? ;)

China has to surpass the US in nukes. That's the only way to guarantee America from interfering in your affairs.
Completely agree!
