then why did GHQ of all places apologize for not deploying sindh rangers for karachi elections? everyone knows that they are under the ministry in name only. rangers is just another employment scheme for faujis who are too incompetent for the main army, so the army pushes them to rangers, coast guard etc.

the interior ministry wrote to the ECP Secretary Omar Hamid Khan, informing him that the matter was taken up with the MO Dte at the Army’s General Headquarters in Rawalpindi who noted that the police and other civil armed forces form the first tier of response and static deployment outside polling stations.

The letter further noted the ECP had deemed some 8,924 polling stations as sensitive, with 2,395 of these deemed as ‘most sensitive’ with no polling station deemed as ‘normal’.

To secure the most-sensitive polling stations alone would require the deployment of around 20,000 troops of the army and the paramilitary Rangers.

It said that given the current border duties and other internal security deployment across the country did not leave the military in a position to deploy such a large number of troops.

However, the military said that it can station troops on standby to act as a quick response force to respond to emerging situation as tier two and three response respectively under Article 220 of the Constitution.

Afterward, the Interior Ministry informed the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) regarding the deployment of force during LG polls.

The Sindh local government polls are scheduled to take place on January 15.

You run a store you have a manager working 12 hours round the clock 6 days a week and you are asking him to come on.sunday as well. What do you expect to get.in reply?? They can easily perform poorly and ask to excuse themselves but instead when they make a genuine case of manpower you call it an excuse. Pakistan rangers FC is one of the lowest paid soldier and still performs better than police.. the gdp used on police and army is more or less the same.. you dont learn and prepare police for the job they are supposed to too and brag about tax.. Pakistanis dont pay (direct) tax.. had they been doing that we wouldn't have been in this state.. instead of fuming on military start collecting proper tax and train the police..

lol military does manage the Rangers by its active personal but its the Interior ministry that sets their high level objectives..If interior ministry puts them on a strenuous task of census (by design to keep them busy) how do you expect them to conduct elections at the same time you retarded dholay sha kai chohay..take off your tin cap and try to read what im saying...the ministry manages rangers politically while army manages them operationally..If ministry asks rangers to free land from someone they would do it regardless he is a land grabber or a perceived suspect. This is how its supposed to work..
Another fair example is how rangers initially bought time to go for karachi operations because how they were stretched out and later the court orders made it binding on them to do an operation there and they went there.
