Sikkim standoff: Strategic importance of Siliguri corridor and why India should be wary of China

Exactly,Nepalese are fed up with Indian blackmail and blockade as well as naked interference in their domestic affairs by India. If China enters into strategic military relationship with Bangladesh and Nepal and set up military bases,it will create a nightmarish situation in New Delhi.A multiple thrust into Chicken neck from all direction will spell doom for Indian presence in north eastern states as well as liberation of South Tibet and Sikkim.

In 21st century, simple economics along with sound military balance dictates foreign policy and not childhood fantasies. Talk like a armchair military general on an internet forum is cheap, diplomatic realism is not. Otherwise we would have seen your fantasy come true long time ago.

No It was Bengalis who had conceptualized the idea of Pakistan. It is a flip flop. You guys conceived the concept of Pakistan but when you guys were F**ke dup, you came back to Bengla Identity.

I thought you know better about the difference between BSF & IA, since the former are the ones who saved your Mukti Bahini *** before the publicised Indian involvement in December 1971.

And your ilitary is way ore undernourished to do challenge Burma, let alone India

Yep, keep reiterating these fake boasts (pretty hilarious from a South Indian), while the fact remains,

Indian soldier in Kashmir complains of deplorable food, frequent hunger

India has world’s highest number of stunted children, child workers

Had we had any intention to grab your land, we would have done it in 1971 itself . But just calm down, Neither your country nor your chinese friend can do that. Se what we do to them in their own land. DO they able to do anything? So do not use the language of enemy. We do not consider you as our enemy as you wre our part since 1947. However, behave like a friend. If you try to be an enemy, you will meet your own fate which will not be in your national interest.
Indians already consider Bangladesh as one of their arch enemies and are behaving as such, on the other hand 90% of Bangladeshis are now possessing ANTI INDIAN sentiments.
Indians serving our National interests, must be the joke of the century. Kindly visit the Bangladesh forum and read the real documented and verified truth on Indo- Bangladesh current relations and the pulse of our Nation.

That's true, we envisioned two sperate states in East and West. We thought entire Bengal and Assam would remain with us. But things didn't turn out well and we had to join Pakistan.

Yep rather hilarious, when a Bangladeshi bashes a south Indian, when the former's only reputation is, ahem let's see- getting slaughtered in millions ?

And it's hardly fake- we liberated you, otherwise your rebels would have been wiped out by the Pakistani military.

while the fact remains,

While the fact remains that Bangladesh is such a weakass country with an underfunded & puny military...that cannot even challenge Burma even if it wanted to..

.

Because the West Bengalis couldn't realize the dream of independent Bangla.
From what i understand Suhrawardy and Sarat Bose formulated the Bengal pact to unify Bengal. Due to the opposition from your Muslim League and the stooges from Pakistan, Suhrawardy fled to Dhaka hiding his tail between his legs.

Yes, and we are proud of it since no other nation has sacrificed so much for their independence as we did. It means we know the value of independence more than any nation in this world.

Like India can't challenge Pakistan?

I doubt wheter you guys understand the value of freedom even after that great sacrifise. Mentality of you guys are very dangerous for yourself and it will not take you anywhere. The plus poit of you guys is that you have a god government else BD would have become an another state like many other Islamic state. Try to correct yourself for the betterment of your country and yourselves.

If you are a Bengali you should read your history properly. There was no objection from Muslim League since Jinnah himself supported the United Bengal plan. The main opposition was from the Shyamaprasad Mukherjee and his supporters in Hindu Mahasabha.

Jinnah's support was conditional to inclusion of the whole of Punjab, he knew well that no one would come to approve of it. And the main opposition to the idea, as i have already mentioned was from Bengal's Muslim League. Of course, SPM came into the picture MUCH LATER, only to counteract Jinnah's devious motive. Truth be told, there was always the plan to divide Bengal along religious lines and Muslim League added fuel to fire. Anyway, let's not cry over spilt milk. Peace.
EDIT: Just don't say the people of WB didn't do enough to keep Bengal united.

That sounds illogical since Bengal would have been independent and wouldn't have any involvement in the otherwise partition negotiations between India and Pakistan. So trading off Bengal with Punjab doesn't make sense. I heard, even Gandhi had tacit support towards the United Bengal plan but was covered up by other Congress leaders.

Let's be honest, the truth is Hindu Mahasabha leaders feared that their influence would be reduced in the newly independent state of Bengal and which is why they initiated the Bengali Hindu Homeland Movement to oppose the plan.

You rightly called it 'illogical', because Jinnah never wanted to let go of Bengal, so he played the 'Punjab card'. Gandhi gave his tacit approval as he wanted the Bengalis to decide for themselves and also to counter Jinnah's plans. One person to have influenced the outcome apart from Muslim League and Mahasabha was Gopinath Bordoloi, the first chief minister of Assam. Well, everyone had their own reasons and methods of upsetting this what-could-have-been pact.

Also the situation in our eastern border is nowhere as bad as in the west. Chit-mahals or enclaves are been exchanged to resolve the outstanding border issues. The sporadic incidents of border shootings are also on decline as Bangladesh improves her economy. Only issue to be dealt with is the river water sharing. To those naysayers of Indo-Bangla ties i will only saythat the future looks promising, atleast from my perspective.
