BRUSSELS (SANA): A large number of Sikhs and Kashmiris held protest demonstration in front of European parliament in Brussels.

why dont they announce their independence officially this help them to get their rights.

.
It is such a shame that western press supports India as its proxy and hardly mention the abuse faced by these oppressed people in india

.
I did not knew Sikhs were nation. Infact India today is ruled by Sikh and Kashmiri family. We should complain instead.

.
Good to see India's influence and importance is growing at such a great pace…..such a small issues are demonstrated before EU and is being discussed in international threads…this used to happen only against big powers like US and recently against China….

My dads family is Sikh. They live in Punjab. They are happy living in India. Things are getting better for them. The people outside the country "fighting" for Khalistan are opportunists who want to line their own pockets and would never put their own lives on the line for any cause because they are cowards.

As for the Kashmiris, if they want to live in Pakistan they can leave, and if they want an interdependent country they can keep dreaming, just like Balochs, Tibetans, and Uighurs do.

every time a thread comes up like this i always have a good laugh the Pakistanis obviously don't realize the Khalistan movement is dead it died in 1992 as a result of the Punjab police eradicating all of the Sikh radical groups i recently visited Punjab and had a nice chat with my uncle on his farmland or Zameen about Khalistan he said that there is no point of a separate Sikh nation because they are fine with India the people living in villages and cities eat well and sleep well..... besides the reasons for Khalistan movement were exploitation of Sikhs by the national gov't (mainly Indira Gandhi) while this is true that btch is long dead and a Sikh is the PM of India today.... Punjab continues to be ranked Indias best state and there has been no militant activity in the state since the early 90's

so Pakistanis you may try and brainwash Sikh youth into believing your propaganda however the majority of us know better and will stop any kind of frivolous attempt of separation be it Kashmir or Punjab.

The Khalistan movement may not have a strong hold in Punjab but in places like Canada, UK, Europe etc it has a presence.

Half of Pakistan is Punjab and Punjabi people of Pakistan have a great cultural Bond and affinity with the Sikh people. The Partition of Punjab was the tragedy of 1947. We would have loved to have our Sikh brothers on our side so we could keep Punjab intact and enjoy our common cultural heritage together.

Hmmmm.. that is actually true for this side of border too. Almost all north Indians are related to each others culturally, racially, ethnically politically so it is natural they will stay together.

yeah its dead in Punjab do you realize what the Khalistan movement did to Punjab? nobody would even dare to announce their public support for radicals and militants because they will "disappear" just like many innocent Sikhs did in the late 80's and early 90's
