ISLAMABAD: Director General Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Major General Muhammad Arif Malik on Wednesday said courts must be closed if cases are to be decided through taking oath. The ANF challenged the bail of the PML-N leader and former Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah in the drugs case before the Supreme Court.

The ANF filed the petition against the verdict of the Lahore High Court, saying that there were sufficient evidence against Rana Sanaullah for being involved in the drugs case. The ANF alleged the PML-N leader was carrying around 15 kilograms of heroin with him when he was arrested from Sukheki in July last year. The Force asked the court to set aside the verdict of the LHC wherein he was allowed bail.

Later, talking to the reporters, the DG ANF asked if any murderer ever admitted in court or in public that he/she killed a person. He said Rana Sanaullah’s case was being heard by the

court and he should provide evidence of his innocence there.

Major General Arif Malik said Rana Sanaullah and Minister of State for Narcotics Control Shaharyar Afridi both took oath and therefore, a draw should be held to figure out who is the culprit.

Responding to a journalist who asked the DG ANF that if he could swear about the veracity of the case, he said courts should be closed if things were to be settled that way. On July 1, 2019, Rana Sanaullah was arrested by an ANF team on the Islamabad-Lahore Motorway near Sukheki area.

The ANF officials had claimed to have seized 15 kilograms of heroin from Sanaullah’s vehicle while they had also detained the PML-N leader’s guard for taking the law into hands. Later, Sana was released from Lahore’s Camp Jail after LHC had granted him bail in narcotics case.

Meanwhile, the government placed the name of Rana Sanaullah on the Exit Control List (ECL). The federal cabinet has approved the suggestion of putting Rana Sanaullah's name on the ECL through circulation of summary.

Excellent response!

Our media needs to stop highlighting the ' I swear on the Quran that I'm innocent statements'. Almost every accused individual swears that they're innocent and when it comes to our politicians our media acts like 'that's

such people dont even read quran and just use it for emergency purpose like in fights, ceremonies, and to prove oneself innocent.

Ptv used to have Azaan and after that it followed with a Hadith and a quote from Baba-e-Qoum. One of the Hadith that I saw repeat was "Qasm khanay se maal tou bikjata hai magar barkat nahi rahti".

if the judges have any shame they should kill themselves after reading this.

valid point

religion is misused by culprits to gain sympathy or put prosecution on defensive

this comment above is not related to Rana Sana ullah

just a general observation

in case someone cares to know my view on this specific case. well Rana is getting the taste of his own medicine
he is a thug for sure but not a moron to carry drugs on his person.

his arrest and case on him is political vendetta and that's whst his party has done. i dont loose any sleep over his punishment whether justified or not. but his role in model town massacre is brought up many time and maybe an injustice here will compensate for his role in the deaths of people.

Is there any law in Pakistan which the Pakistan government can invoke and remove these sellout judges. They need to reform the judiciary system and bring in new educated judges. People who will deliver according to the law, people who will punish the corrupt and terrorist. This was the reason why the military courts came in to being because our regular courts were releasing all the terrorists and their funders. We must still have 1000s of terrorist and corrupt people roaming freely because the courts, police, lawyers took bribes and released them.

We all know the judges, police, lawyers and politicians have relations, they sit together at weddings, private parties, meetings, even powerful bureaucrat attend these functions. These people will never let reforms take place because their own power and money making scheme will end.

A question, not related to the topic... How do i report a corrupt govt servant, how do i provide proof if the person only deals in cash, is incompetent to the core, and must not have been promoted?

.
All this started by shyray afridi and ali m khan by saying jaan Allah ko daini hy

So now anyone can up just stand up say anything against the court?

A valid and reasonable response.
By challenging the writ of the court is that Valid stance?
