here is the thing we have terrorist threat in Afghanistan border and tho we are fighting it for several years conditions didn't get improved . turkmenistan has 5 million populations with standing army as well as conscripted soldiers but recently defence ministry call on reserve troops to come back and serve the army again this is new , it's tells us the conscription system are not enough for army's needs or threat is becoming much larger

turkmen reserves recalled to afghanistan border saying their farewell to their loved ones

since turkmenistan army sign the treaty of ottawa(which bans the use of minefield ) they dig ditch to stop terrorist to entering Turkmenistan which automatically increases the need for soldiers however that wasn't enough . in recent years Turkmenistan army rapidly crossed Afghanistan border something afghan government considers as violations of its sovereignty

turkmenistan armed forces already have female soldiers but their numbers are small and their role are either symbolic or behind desks

If you need to raise a border security force, yes. Drafting women can help fill gaps. If you need to raise a strike team or army, no. Professional soldiers are always preferable, men or women.

Our military drafts women too, in any branch. They serve in our Home Guard, as auxiliaries - mechanics, cyber defence members, border guards, port security forces, air or coastal defence battery operators, - but they aren't put on the front.

These women are conscripts, all of them serve in secondary roles:

I am 100% in favor of allowing women to serve in any position - many people here can tell you that, especially as I'm a former airwomen myself - in any branch so long as they can pass the same tests as their male counterparts (no lowering of the standards). But conscripts are always best used in auxiliary roles, man or woman. In Norway some units have a mix of conscripts and professional soldiers, but front-line units are all professional. Our female special operations unit Jegertroppen is strictly professional.

Should you draft women? Yes. But conscripts of any gender are best used away from the front. Ideally a professional force would be better.

The war is not solely based on physical conditions of the people, but the major part in a fight is the intelligence, that also explains the ''genetic'' characteristic of The Turks that have founded many countries and ruled for centuries: like 7 independent, 16 federal/autonomous state Turks have today.

The technology for fight conditions are developing very fast, but operatoring that technology does not require a spesific gender to push the button behind the screen but intelligence. However, no technology can replace a human intelligence which is found equally in men and women.

In short, The intelligence is what gets the result, so both genders are important as long as the intelligence is seen the key.

Why not turkey help them I think they have enough man power

Considering the small population of Turkmenistan, this shouldnt even be debatable but a neccesasity. Women can contribute just as men do in many specialized areas, if not better. If we are talking about proffesional soldiers then you should without a doubt allow women to join. Carreer soldiers, be it men or women, are always a good asset to have for any armed forces. However i dont believe there should be any women conscription within the army, that will simply never work out for many reason that dont need explaining. So they should be part of every branch and institution of the armed forces, except for army conscription(navy and airforce are fine because they rarely require a huge number of personal and require little physical activities).

I do not have adequate knowledge about Turkmenistan Military. I went through Wikipedia for a general idea.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armed_Forces_of_Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan needs better funding for its military. If the management and administration is improved, Your strength will enhance rapidly. Land forces of Turkmenistan needs to be increased rather than having additional conscripts.
The training of soldiers should be the focus and friendly states can be reached out in this respect. No foreign troops must be allowed under pressure but military advisers can be permitted. As You people do not have any border dispute with Afghanistan, you can review your agreement regarding minefield ban for national security interests. Mining the border and having adequate patrolling along it will help secure your country. Russia can be called on to give you military equipment to fight against terrorism. Russia itself wants to eliminate ISIS.
The Islamic Military Alliance can be notified of the threat and be requested for assistance.
Military conscripts being temporarily forced to be serviced will not have the required motivation, determination and ability to serve on the active border and should rather not be used on the front lines. Increase in the quantity of the army along with better training and funding will ensure a better approach to the matter. Turkmenistan needs to be vary of the terror threat but also need not exaggerate it. As you people already have conscript men in your country, you can focus on better training regarding them and how to optimize their usage. Conscripts are not trained and suited for deployment on active border.
P.S: I am never in favor of the idea of conscripts especially for women.

Don't count on conscripts/regular army to fight terrorists, it doesn't work, depending how bad it is, specialized units can be a much bigger counter to such threat, than an army that has never faced nor trained for such a threat.
Azerbaijan also faced terrorism problem flowing from Dagestan, and created specialized Qartal unit which a decade ago eliminated the problem. Turkmenistan should seek help from Turkey, which has decades of experience in tracking border movements, Turkey has even developed light armed aircraft, perfect for COIN operation and Turkmenstan already has Chinese UCAVs which can perfectly complement each other, otherwise you can't count on artillery or MLRS to deliver precise strikes, and judging by the videos you posted, thats whats heading towards the border.

alternatively you can build a wall and make Afghanistan pay for it

My point of view is that with this population every citizen of the country should undergo military training and service. For men minimum of 6 months and for women at least 3. I am not sure how this will help against the terrorists but I think a country with so small population should use all the resource it have. As @Azeri440 said specialized units in counter terrorism is critical because normal soldiers can not out stand rebels and at the same time keep the casualties at minimum. Good surveillance systems, armed UAVs, COIN aircraft like HURKUS and appropriate man force on the ground is the key for me. Good luck to the brothers and sisters in Turkmenistan.

. .
I am in favor of gender equality, so yes I believe everyone who passes the health test should be conscripted, military service would be the ultimate proof of equality, but politicians (men) are more interested in the symbolic value of equality. But combatting terrorists is a job for professionals. Like Celik kuvvet in the past, the reason for why "they" were so highly successful is because they're career police officers and not conscripts who wants to do their time and go back home.

Which is why professionals would be better suited. Also Turkey should be one of the first to offer help on this area, maybe Turkmenistan has already contacted Turkey...

Does anyone know ?
