You make so different statements that I can't really allocate to a party. Pro EU, a bit liberal, religious and against some newspapers.

I for one don't want to see us in the EU but we should have a free trade agreement with the EU and take EU standards as a goal whether is labour laws or food regulation. 50% of our trade is with the EU.

My opinion is mine and depends on own experience. Never want to force someone to accept it. It is a shout and presentation. Everybody can decide and will decide based on his background

Turkey has been asking to join EU for over a decade. It is the EU not inducting Turkey as part of European Union.

The question is for how long?

Judging by the recent Islamic events rhetoric from AKP and instability in Turkeys neighbors like Syria/Iraq etc , they will keep waiting for a long time i'm afraid.

EU etc r thing of the past and dont have much of significance nor economic future as EuroAsia Union, BRICS or SCio has. Turkey must join them instead. By this way it can be made Queen of europe and the EU's German, UK and French monopoly wont let them join anyway like they never have allowed Turkey since ages.

I think now Turkey itself should kick EU aside and join alternatives with grand potential and economic offers that EU can ever reach. SCO and BRICS now has world's 2/3rd market.

Both. Ask any Turk living in Europe, or anybody who knows anything about geopolitics, that Turkey's future is IN the EU. It's simple proximity and economics. And yes, Turkey will need to moderate it's hinterland of religious conservatism. But the day will come, and Turkey will join. It will mean a huge boost for the Turkish economy, and a big strategic victory for the West (and a lot of European Turks will get their behinds violated by the tax-man)
I just hope Turkey will be strong within the EU and influential, and not for the west to have it's way with Turkey and the K...s.

ahahahha.......ask your Turkish brothers then why they dont want to join your so called Islamic ummah, nor even SCO,EURO ASIA stuffs etc. Do you think they are that foolish?? They know which region/organization is more advanced/forward looking and which can give/provide/add more to their country be it technologically/scientifically/geo politically(world is still a western dominated world by quite a big margin) ,economically etc.

You can keep dreaming that Turkey will suddenly give up on joining the E.U and opt of for useless eastern organizations/block or even more useless muslim Ummah WHICH CANT BE OF MUCH HELP TO TURKEY even in its region/crisis in Syria etc.

Well are part of E.U , though we maintained our powerful currency(pound). We can decide to leave if we want/so desire(which i dont think it will happen). The choice is ours.

HOWEVER Turkey's case is different, its has no choice, and has been pleading to join for so long now, even after being rebuffed by France and Germany(we dont mind you joining actually.lol), ITS STILL KEEPS BEGGING/PLEADING TO JOIN. So i guess there must be a good reason for Turkey being so keen on joining Europe than staying with its backward looking muslims cousins/brothers in the region. Your leaders are not dumb bro, they know what they are doing. So i just hope Turks here will be more pragmatic and acknowledge this, instead of bad mouthing the same union they are trying so hard to join. Fooling nobody to be honest.
