Shooting at Another School in America

.
Had this been a Muslim kid, Act of Terrorism would've followed with the minor being sent to Guantanamo under the Patriot Act.

Since its a black kid, & that he looks like Lil' Wayne - he'll most certainly be tried as an adult & serve the maximum.

The Land of the Free, the very nation that wrongfully convicted a 14 Year old & executed him with the Electric Chair back in 1944.

But that was a different time and even though the African-American were already done with slavery... To whites, they were still referred to as 'Nigger' and 'boy'.

Those two kids in trench coats back in '99 (Columbine) started something which isn't gonna go away. The incident was never labelled as Terrorism.

Nor was the incident in the Las Vegas where the gunmen used the window as a vantage point for targeting practice.

There was the shooting in Denver during the screening of Batman. No Terrorism there either.

But hey, Godbless the NRA.
The Colombine shooting wouldn't be classified as terrorism as there was no political aim or goal for the shooters. That's pretty much in the definition of terrorism.

. .
True but in some cases it also involved random people committing the heinous crime.
One such incident also happened here Scotland, where a man entered a Primary School in Dunblane and killed more than a dozen children.

The Dunblane incident was 25 years ago and the law was changed to limit owner ship of large calibre handguns. The shooter was a paedophile.

That is the proper way to improve the law and its applications - by due process, as warranted.

.
Decay in law n order situation is the major sign that a nation is on downward spiral.

. .
The family and I were thinking the other day to shift to Texas for business opportunity.

But anyways, it's sad these shootings are happening in Schools and stuff, something is mentally wrong with these kids.
Personal and unpopular opinion...there always have been crazy ppl like this shooter...
...the only problem is more lethality(aka guns) in more ppl's hands...and the ease with which they can get them. So statistically it's just a matter of time before guns end up in the hands of crazies...
...or it's just a matter of time before something happens to a perfectly normal person(who had a gun) that makes him/her snap...going all crazy.

We've seen gun control policies work in other countries...idk why US is so against it.

.
As expected, you had nothing but your ignorance and prejudice to back anything up. Sadly typical.
What ever you say, Pops.

What's 'typical' of me to say that I couldn't care less 'bout the US & their issues with School Shootings.

If the US can use a Predator or Reaper & kill a van full of innocent children in a School Bus - then they deserve this mess they' ve created.

'Bullying' is hardly a reason to go all out locked 'n' loaded. These f#*kin' weak minded kids wouldn't last a week in our Public Schools.

The problem is those 2nd Amendment "Don't take ma gun away, or my right to sleep with ma sister" freaks from the south, they get in the way of any sensible gun reforms in this country.

Thin skin. Kids nowadays get triggered easily. Parents ignore their children with their faces planted into Facebook and other social media all day. Result is this.

.
The problem is those 2nd Amendment

This is not a problem. After all, there are due processes for amending or revoking any Amendment.

The Second Amendment.
Yeah I know...
Except it makes no sense in today's context. It needs to be interpreted as such by courts. Or if owning guns is still to be allowed...at least make the process thorough and difficult.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
...this was written at a time...where the US independence from Great Britain literally depended on exactly this. There were the British soldiers with muskets...and there was the continental army with muskets...
...and so the premise goes that it is important for ppl to have the right to bear arms...so that if the government becomes tyrannical...they can fight against it to ensure freedom.

In the modern day...it is no longer muskets. If we are to entertain this thought...and let's assume for example that the current US government becomes a tyrant...and the US citizens need to fight it...well then they better have the right to bear F16s, F15s, F22s, F35s, B2 bombers, M1A1 Abrams, ATGMs, Apaches, Stingers, some destroyers, aircraft carriers, and a couple of boomers to name a few. Would the common US citizen be allowed to have an F22(let alone if he/she could afford one) or a SSBN?
Bcuz otherwise it's hopeless for a US citizen of today to stop a hypothetical tyrant US government (and its forces) with force.

So either keep the second amendment exactly as intended...and allow the citizens to own muskets only(those oldschool not so accurate ones) while the military also gets only muskets...
...or apply it to the modern day and allow citizens to own all the modern day weaponry that the US military gets to prevent that supposed dooms day scenario of the government becoming a tyrant.
^both of these above possibilities are obviously not practical whatsoever...and are only used to drive the point home that the context in which the second amendment was written is outdated.

Even an argument can be made..that the "well regulated militia" is already the armed forces and police itself "for the security of the free state"...

No matter how u look at it...it comes back to the age old "social contract"...where we limit our freedom to do absolutely anything and everything...so that we can have peace. Imagine a prehistoric society with no rule of law..no government of any kind. A caveman who was stronger than his neighbor would club him to death and take his wife and resources. Another caveman who may not be stronger than that one...but smarter...may lay a trap for him when he goes hunting...kill him and take his resources. Then when he is out somewhere someone can take advantage of his absence and steal his things...
...and so very quickly we can see how absolute total freedom to be able to do anything just bcuz u can...isn't entirely productive. Instead we as a society need to voluntarily "limit" some of these freedoms by enacting laws, abiding by them, enforcing them, and having punishments for those who break those laws as a deterrent.
It is the same with owning guns. Yes we can all own guns...but then by extension it means the crazies among us also own guns. Sure some among us might be Rambo types who can defend themselves and their families with their own gun...
...but what about when that Rambo's kid is in school? What about when his wife is out shopping?
...so if we collectively want to be able to limit a lethal weapon from getting into the hands of those who have no qualms about murdering...
...or someone who used to be perfectly normal but has snapped bcuz of some event...
...we must all limit that freedom. Sure a person can still attack another without a gun...but he/she won't be able to kill tens of others in a matter of minutes.

Anyways...it's a long debate very philosophical in nature...that I find most ppl don't have the patience for...instead they just get angry and dig further into their beliefs rather than countering with sound reasoning. I doubt I'll convince anyone.
