Shooter Heena Sidhu withdraws from tournament in Iran, says won't wear hijab

 you stole favorit tag line of Indians when they target Muslims living in France or any western country where these Muslim women are forced to remove hijab and all the Indian members throng the thread saying "Their country, their rules. Don't like the rules, then don't go. "

I think the motive is to see more liberal women than hating Muslims-

.
What does that have to do with what I said? did I said Iranian women like the rule? A rule is someone that one follows regardless of personal desires. I don't agree with many rules, but I still follow them where I have to.
Islam doesn't impose anything on anyone but want the person to submit himself by his own freewill.

There is a big difference between what happens in France and Iran. In Iran Hijab is seen as an important part of their religion which is why women are asked to wear it. However, what excuse does France have to ban the Burqa? Is it against their state religion that Burqa worn? No, they ban it for security reasons etc. From the Iranian perspective, the Hijab law is associated with their holy texts, they will not just abandon it. Once again, you and I may disagree with their interpretation of the Quran etc, but from their point of view, that is the will of god.

Both France and Iran though are fair to a point that its there country there rules, but its not common to forcer outsiders too both must understand this

Not outsider but they don't have rights to enforce something which belongs to personal choice even on own citizens.

Isn't apostasy punishable by death in Islam?

Everyone has their own interpretation of the religion. But clearly not everyone shares those interpretations.

.
But that logic is strange. She should be logical enough to understand if you enter a place where a religious aspect is being practised, then you should abide by it. It does not matter if your religion does not practise that. She is acting like they're forcing her to become a Muslim or that covering herself is against her religion. As far as Iran is concerned, in Islam a women should cover her hair, whether their religious interpretation is correct or not is a different matter.

I am not even a Muslim myself. But I would still respect the rules of a particular religion as long as it's not putting me a serious risks etc.

And she did respect it by withdrawing instead of going without a burka.

Once submitted but again highly debatable issue. Refusing the truth from Allah and refusing to cover body as per mullahs dictations two different things.

Right and this athlete did not go.

So maybe all those not liking France's rules should follow her example and leave or not go in first place?

@Vergennes

I support both this lady's decision and also the right of Iran to have whatever dress code rules they want.

In Iran women are not forced to wear a Burqa. This is a Burqa:

Women in Iran are asked to cover their head, and they're quite lenient in how you do it. Just look:

What is the definition of "Liberal" ? And how on earth you target only Muslim women?

Possibly everything which prevents any living person dressed in black/covered from head to toe- at places not even eyes are spared-

How about liberating some Hindu women? Some Nuns ? too

You know why Muslims have remained Feudal and backward in general inspite of having a great civilization in the past when women didn't have to cover themselves as such- It is because of this very behavior- why not others, what about others, why us-

Honesty by doing this you are right on tone with the worst pedophile mullah who thinks a woman is no more than a donkey-

Had Hindus said the same a few hundred years back when Sati was opposed- we'd still have women burning themselves in the name of religion- Had the Christians said the same they would still be being burnt for saying sorry Sir you are wrong the earth revolves around the Sun and not the other way round- and their women would still have to shave their head and keep It covered with a cloth in the name of religion-

My country is debating triple talaq and Polygamy and I am very happy we have not come across a single prominent Muslim lady who said what about Hindus or Christians- Only the worst of the kind feudal mullahs have been shouting at the top of their voices what you just said-

Sorry confused the terminology. The point still stands she withdrew instead of coming without a hijab.
