Yes. We are not talking about a literal invasion of Iranian soil. At least for now, we are talking about conventional air arms. The fact that Israel defeated the land component of the combined Arab armies long ago should not be taken as a sign that Israel has diminished anyway in that respect.

A nuclear first use is not contingent upon being a response or not. It simply mean one will be the first in a conflict to use nuclear weapons.

Because killing 80 million people is totally normal. Then again Israel has been known to use disproportionate force and banned weapons resulting in double to triple civilian casualties to so called militant ones. You can only go so far before the world turns their back on you.

Here is how the crisis could occur...

Hezbollah received NBC weapons from Iran. The nuclear component does not have to be a true nuclear weapon but a radiological device, more for terror than for complete destruction. Under customary laws of war, a proxy is an agent and therefore the employer of said agent is just as culpable as the agent for any action taken in the conflict. Once Hezbollah attacked Israel proper with an NBC weapon, Israel will be compelled to respond in two fronts: Palestine proper and Iran. The response against Hezbollah in Palestine proper will be severe with many Palestinian civilian lives lost. But the vision of Hezbollah is apocalyptic so those Palestinian deaths will be blessed by the mullahs as martyrs anyway. Against Iran, Tehran and other vital military installations will be attacked. No one will come to Iranian assistance and geography will prevent Iran from doing anything more than ballistic missile attacks. In the meantime, Israeli prosecution of Hezbollah in Palestine proper will continue, resulting in more civilian deaths, which is exactly what Iran wants.
