Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 19th November, 2018) Opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has refused to appear before the court in the Model Town carnage case.

A two-member Supreme Court bench, headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, held a hearing of the case in Lahore Registry on Monday. However, opposition leader and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif refused to appear before the court.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore DG Saleem Shahzad appeared before the court. The DG informed the court that Shehbaz Sharif does not want to appear before the court in the case and has requested to send his lawyer instead.

Shahzad said that Shehbaz Sharif has given a written application in this regard.

The chief justice ordered to form a five-member larger bench to formulate a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate into the incident.

The larger bench will hold the hearings of the case in Islamabad from December 5.

During the hearing, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his brother Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza Shehbaz, former Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah requested for an extension from the court. Approving the request, the court granted an extension of two weeks.

Exactly, this is the injustice which has created so much division and hatred against the system in the society. The big mouthed CJP throws statements and dialogues worth a cheap Punjab movie. WTF this case has not been solved while the evidence has been recorded by more than one TV-channels and SS can get away with it ....
The failure of judicial system forces people to look for alternatives and that likes Mullah Fazalullah got hold in a peaceful valley like Swat. These cheap justices are responsible for this mess and we need to get rid of this judiciary.

Until justice is not served, Pakistan will not prosper, its the lower judiciary which I feel needs reforming the most, that is where these corrupts get away with impunity, with the likes of Rafique brothers getting protective bails one after another.

Although Chief is doing a good job, he should try not to become a party to every case or else his office become polarized. Office of Chief Justice is a very high office and for its respect, its judgment should speak not the man holding the office.
