Qurbani is done to remember the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim ! its the most humane way to kill an animal... the meat is than distributed into poor n needy people,neighbours n family..... unlike the sikh-hindu "Jhatka" which is barbaric n most painful way of slaughtering an animal...
