Just look around at any system DRDO has made. Every system depends on "imported" components.

AGNI-III was stuck for 6 years due to lack of "imported" components. Only because of nuclear deal, DRDO succeeded in getting imports.

Just look at the amount India spent on "imports" from Israel in last 2 years and compare it to investment in domestic R&D. You will get the answer.

The latest "import" is networking of IAF communication(C4I) network by Israeli company.

India is Zero without "imports"(Israel and Russia). Israel saved India's a$$ in Kargil war with emergency supply. So much for the superpower dreams.

The answer is simple.
Get the best of technology from around the globe,use the best of technology you have and make a product which is world class. People like you complaining that everything should be made here is mere stupidity if you need a quality product.
everybody knows India is one of the major contributers in IT . but i am not complaining if the compueter i am using is having intel or AMD chipset, or if my hard disk is from samsung or my pendrive is from china or my memory card is from france. i just need a good damn machine thats all it matters,,
