The government would be wise to encourage Shi Yongxin expand the Shaolin brand to foreign countries. Shaolin kung fu increases china's cultural influence and soft power and more than the government sponsored confucius institute, which is feared abroad for expanding the communist party's influence.

The fact is, for china's culture to be welcomed and accepted abroad, private indivuals and organizations like the shaolin abbot needs to do more, and the government less.
