Alas, we have to get used to US administrations and their failures characterized as emblematic of "difficult relationships" -- That successive administrations fail in what are they themselves admit are their most important relationships, is indicative of a deeper, structural problem within US policy making establishment, the revolving door between public service and privately funded institutes, represents a key facet of that structural problem.
