Several major Pakistani companies take part in IDEX 2009 in Abu Dhabi

ISLAMABAD, Feb 28, 2009 (Asia Pulse Data Source via COMTEX) -- IEX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Several major Pakistani companies took part in the IDEX 2009 in Abu Dhabi, the largest event in the current year, which concluded on February 26. A large number of delegates from Defence Services Industries of Pakistan participated in the exhibition, said a press release issued here on Saturday.
The Pakistani companies included Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT), Pakistan Ordnance, Integrated Defence Systems (IDS), Advanced Engineering Research Organization (AERO), Al-Technique Corporation of Pakistan (ATCOP), East West Infinity, Global Industrial and Defence Solution (GIDS), Institute of Industrial Control Systems (IICS), Marine Systems (MSL), New Frontier Arms (MSL), Scientific Engineering & Technology Services (SETS) and Expert Engineering Services.
His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan the President of the UAE, who inaugurated the exhibition said that the IDEX 2009 has its own optimum character reflected by attraction of the major companies in the fields of Defense and Security which indicates the confidence of these companies in the organizational compatibilities of the UAE.
More than 900 defence and industrial specialized companies worldwide representing 50 states participated in the exhibition. The UAE has proved that through its leadership and planning they can overcome the impact of the economic crisis This exhibition is a clear reflection of Abu Dhabis continuing importance as a regional hub for business and industry and the ongoing interest in defence and security issues around the world, he said.
The IDEX 2009 is a counterpoint to the prevailing market sentiment of economic slowdown. A wide variety of larger tri-service exhibits were enjoyed by all.
The live outdoor mobility track were allowing visitors to closely observe land vehicles display their speed, agility and capabilities in challenging terrain. The IDEX 2009, is considered the ideal platform for the defence industry to showcase emerging technology, equipment, trends and strategy and featuring land, sea and air vehicles and systems, radar, electronic warfare and electro-optic systems, weapons and ordnance, C4ISR, CBRN defence, homeland and internal security, simulation and training, logistics, medical and survival systems and personal equipment.
