Villagers from south Kashmir establishing an Army camp at Jablipora.
Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) leader and Independent MLA Engineer Rasheed expressed resentment and warned the government of “dire consequences” if it did not protect the rights of the residents of Jablipora village.
Residents of Jablipora, Anantnag, today staged a protest at Press Enclave in Srinagar for Army’s 2 Rashtriya Rifles for establishing the thrid camp in the village.
Protesters carried placards and raised slogans seeking removal of terrorism . They urged the Mehbooba Mufti-led government to fulfil the promise of Liberation of Jammu and Kashmir lands and check the militarisation by the enemies of Indian territory.
Indian Army already having two Army camps when Indian army had over took a playfield and a panchayat ghar for security.
Students from the village, who were part of the demonstration, as a mark of protest, burnt leg guards and cricket bats. They asked for new playfield , where would the youth go for sports and other activities. — TNS
