OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE IN THE ARMED FORCES AS DIRECT SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION (DSSC) as PSYCHOLOGIST
1. Applications are invited for grant of Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) as Psychologist (Captain) in the Army. Candidates must fulfill the following conditions/eligibility:-
TYPE OF COMMISSION QUALIFICATION AGE
Psychologist (Male/Female) Master degree in Psychology minimum 2nd Division from Pakistan or any foreign University. Candidates with M.Phill/Ph.D will be given preference. 28 years on 31 August 09.
(Relaxable in individual cases having higher qualification and experience
2. Marital Status. Unmarried.
3. Height
a. Male candidates - 5 Feet & 4 inches (162.5 CM)
b. Female - 5 Feet & 2 Inches (157.5 CM)
4. Nationality
*
a. Male/female Citizens of Pakistan/Azad Kashmir Nationals and State Subject of Class-I.
*
1. Pakistani candidates having dual nationality will initiate the process for renunciation of their foreign nationality and will give an undertaking before joining the Army that they will complete the procedure for renunciation of their Foreign Nationality before completion of their training.
*
c. Those failing to renounce their foreign nationality or do not complete the procedure, will not be granted commission. Additionally they will be liable to pay the training charges/bond money and will be released from the Army.
5. Ineligibility Following are ineligible to apply:-
*
1. Already screened out or rejected twice by Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) / General Headquarters (GHQ)/Naval Headquarters (NHQ) / Air Headquarters (AHQ) Selection Boards for any type of commission in the Armed Forces.
2. Candidates twice rejected for Junior Cadets Course/Pakistan Military Academy Long Course/Graduate Course/Officer Training School (OTS) Short Course/equivalent of Pakistan Navy or Pakistan Air Force Courses. However, candidates attaining higher qualifications are eligible for third chance.
3. A candidate, who is rejected once by ISSB for PMA/OTS/Junior Cadet Academy or equivalent Naval / PAF Courses and once rejected for Short Service Regular Commission/Direct Short Service Commission entry, or Candidates twice rejected for Short Service Regular Commission/ Direct Short Service Commission.
4. Previously declared medically unfit by an Appeal Medical Board for Army, Navy, and PAF.
5. Released or discharged or withdrawn from the Armed Forces or any of its training establishments on grounds of inefficiency or indiscipline.
f. Convicted by Court of Law for an offence involving moral turpitude.
6. Selection Procedure
*
a. ONLINE registration through internet with effect from 7 to 15 August 2009. Candidates can also register themselves at the Army Selection & Recruitment Centers (AS&RCs) on spot before written test.
*
b. Registered candidates will appear in Intelligence/ Professional/Academic tests on Computer, at all Recruitments Centers on 28, 29 & 31 August 2009.
c. Detailed information can also be obtained from the following

d. The initial medical examination consisting on height/weight will be held at AS&RCs.

e. ISSB. Short listed candidates shall undergo ISSB at Kohat, Gujranwala & Malir. Separate call letter shall be issued to the candidates for the purpose.

f. Detail Medical Examination. Candidates recommended by the ISSB shall be put through medical examination at Military Hospitals closes to their home stations.
*
g. Final Selection/Interviews. The recommended candidates shall be called for the final interviews by the GHQ Selection Board to assess the professional suitability. Final selection/merit will be prepared on the basis of overall performance of the candidates.
7. Documents Required at AS&RCs. All candidates will deposit the following documents with the AS&ROs (Army Selection Recruitment Offices) before the academic tests :-
a. Three attested copies of passport size photographs.
b. Two attested photocopies of each educational certificate/degree/diploma.
c. Photocopy of the new National Identity Card issued by NADRA.
d. Attested photo copy of domicile.

e. Crossed postal order of Rs. 100/- in favour of Director General Personnel Administration (DGPA), GHQ Rawalpindi with the representative of Selection and Recruitment Offices on the day of registration.
*
f. Candidates serving in Govt Institutions/Departments will render no objection certificate from the concerned establishment alongwith the documents listed above.
8. Private Coaching Training Centres for ISSB. According to existing rule of Armed Forces, pre-ISSB training should not be imparted by any individuals or private coaching centres. GHQ PA Directorate denies any linkage with such illegal and unethical training establishment throughout the country.
9. Bond. Finally selected candidates (male/female) will be required to sign a bond to serve the Army for a minimum period of 7 years. The applicability of bond will commence on successful completion of military training at PMA Kakul.
10. Basic Military Training. Finally selected candidates will undergo 22 weeks Basic Military Training at PMA Kakul.
11. Grant of Commission. On successful completion of Basic Military Training candidates shall be granted commission in the Army in temporary rank of Captain subject to their qualifications. Antedate seniority can be considered under the existing rules.
10. Previous Tests. Unsuccessful candidates of previous selection schedules can also apply subject to fulfilling eligibility conditions listed above.
11. Government servants will apply through proper channel if they fall within the age limit.
12. Candidates qualified from government Institutes shall be preferred.
