Senior Chinese legislator meets Indian parliamentary delegation

A senior Chinese legislator said Friday that China would further advance the strategic partnership with India.

Sang Guowei, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) of China, made the remarks during a meeting with an Indian parliamentary delegation here.

Attaching great importance to bilateral ties, China is willing to boost parliamentary, party-to-party and people-to-people exchanges with India for the healthy and steady development of the relations, Sang said.

Ravi Shankar Prasad, a member of Indian parliament and the general secretary of the Indian People's Party, said the Indian government, parliament and political parties agree on the need to develop good relations with China, hoping to increase cooperation in economic, cultural and tourism sectors.

Both sides recalled the long-lasting friendship between China and India and looked forward to the prospect of India-China cooperation.
