Sending Pakistan to Mars

. .
My opinion is that Pakistani ordinary people need to be honest and develop a habit of accepting the truth. This will just be a bigining. Pakistan has too many good people. If pakistan follow their advice and do not declare them CIA, RAW and mosad agent, Pakistan can make a humble beginning.

.
I know, but the reason Pakistan languishes in scientific accomplishments is the same reason most of the developing world (Muslim and non-Muslim) lags: a corrupt society ruled by corrupt politicians; no accountability, no vision, no nothing. Just coasting along, hoping for the best, with no long term planning..

Bringing religion into the discussion only serves to distract from the other issues.
You are deliberately ignoring some major aspects.
A society which is obsessed with Religion, which religion you belong to, which sect you belong to, trying to fulfill 'Gods will', killing for it, making the country 'purer'.....will never be able to succeed in scientific achievements, will never be able to have a societal focus on science which is imperative to sustained achievements in science.

That Dr Salam had to leave Pakistan is extremely indicative of the malaise.

.
better late than never, India Surpassing Pakistan in some field seems to be the best motivation for the Pakistanis,
we tried to catch up in the nuclear arms race, IT industry(private sector) is getting strong as well despite the economic crunch.
the space program sure is gonna be a challenge but we do have quite capable minds here.
they're just not rightly exploited.

I don't deny that excessive religiousness is a potential problem.

I am saying that the abysmal state of a high-tech ecosystem is merely indicative of a wider breakdown in governance. The core issue is lack of governance, which is caused by corruption and apathy.

The electricity system is a mess. The mass transit system is a mess. The law enforcement is a mess. The education sector is a mess.

You can't blame religion for all these failures.

The problem is that, as soon as the word 'religion; comes into a discussion, it takes over the debate and completely shifts the focus away from the problems of governance.

*beginning
and yes we try to accept the truth when it rightfully is true, and we are the the biggest critics of our government and the people who have radical and feudalistic mindset so dont worry about that, often our very own people are branded as Indian sympathizers so we're as honest as it gets. the beginning already has been there for quite a while.

It is very good if true. I wish you best of luck.

I'm a RAW agent..... no wait Its Mossad actually. The guy who gave me the briefcase with money in it wore a kappa.

If the thread title comes true , Pakistan's neighbors will be very happy.

Dude seriously save your breath. Accept it with cold heart, you need to create a passion for all these in your country to take on civilian projects, you guys are so so Military minded. You need to create a whole new set of Education System , Good Industrial Base and ofcourse a New generation of Minds who are willing to take the hands of Pakistan and lead it into the age of 21st Century.

India is a black hole which no country on earth has been able to understand. With acute poverty issues, we still have managed to breach what was once denied to us and stand in a place where people Look upto us and say India is no longer a land of Snake Charmers. We have started to Grow with full Pace ahead.

As usual, DAWN f*cks it up by bringing religion into the discussion, creating an opening for diversion and derailment.

Stellar example of why Pakistan remains in the dumps.
(Ref. "Don't mention the War", c.f. Fawlty Towers)

These imbeciles can't leave religion out of anything.

Sir, isn't religion woven into the very fabric of the State by (misguided) intention?

I don't think so.

While it's true that religion is more visible in Pakistan than in secular countries, I don't believe that it occupies the thoughts of ordinary Pakistanis as much as is claimed.

Most ordinary people are far more focused on the mundane routine of daily life, as in any other country.
