Send Remittances to your family through Pakistan Post

every govt institution running at loss but he is trying his best to fill the gap

No he's not. If he wants to run it profitably he needs to retrench excess workers, modernize operations (they still use cloth bags instead of standardized containers), and most important of all increase prices.

So you want that they increase the rates...n people will lose interest...

Their prices are 1/10th of what private companies charge. There's a lot of room for increasing prices without causing people to "lose interest" in their services.

Its better that first people starts using this service and then in future gradually increase the charges...first let them fall in love with Pakistan post

Retrenching government employees is easier said than done. First, there would be serious pushback, confrontation, threats, and quite possibly strikes, boycotts, go slow, etc. Second, it would increase unemployment at a time when there is little opportunity for alternative employment. That would be a burden on society, and the system. Third, with an opposition and media is hellbent on criticizing everything the government is doing, it would be politically very damaging.

You cannot have economic growth unless you stop the misallocation of resources. Human labour and capital is being wasted keeping these people employed in busy work. It is a waste that a poor country like Pakistan can ill afford.

You seem to have misunderstood entirely yet it didn't stop you from arguing needlessly. I was referring to their postage prices not their remittance service.Their parcel delivery prices have not been changed since 2009. Parcel delivery is NOT a new service. It's as old as pak post itself.

.
Essentialy the private sector companies can outsource their business to pak post and still function profitably. You can start your own courier company by opening a few offices around the country and let pak post do the actually delivering. No need to invest in delivery infrastructure or anything expensive like that. This is called arbitrage and the cost will be borne by the taxpayer.

1. Is doesn't matter if people send it thru Pak Post or private company who are using Pak Post. If Post is making money at these rates then its all good, remember Pakistan post has an infrastructure all setup throughout the country so it doesn't cost them much as compare any private courier. We have private couriers here in Canada who will DHL a package for 1.4th what it will cost to send thru DHL and the reason is grouping smaller packages in to a big package that costs them less thru DHL, now it doesnt mean DHL is loosing money.

It's not which is what i keep saying. It's running at a loss.

there are other reasons for loss like PIA and Railways, this new guy is trying to bring the losses down lets see how much he succeeds.

Yes of course it must be other reasons. It's got nothing at all to do with not increasing prices since 2009. There has be no inflation or rupee depreciation at all in the last 10 years. No increase at all in the cost of doing business. It must be something else entirely.

As for the new guy see my post number #19 above.
