When they say hack, they actually mean crack.

One such method is
1) First obtain the ip address of the user.
2) Run a scanner against the ipaddress to see open services.
3) Based on the fingerprints of the scan, run a set of scripts which exploit vulnerabilities on those systems.

The more common ones nowadays are to exploit vulnerabilities in applications like browsers, mail clients, browser plugins(ex: flash, pdf reader) to get the user to install a trojan on the system. This trojan can then open doors for the intruder to do as he wishes.

Most of the vulnerable computers out there are ones which haven't been updated to the latest versions or ones where the users are not careful when installing applications from unknown sources.

If you haven't been infected yet, make sure you haven't shared anything, you have the windows firewall setup to reject all incoming new requests. Have a virus/trojan checker, you should be fine.

If you already have a virus, then all bets are off.

What kind of virus? most viruses create an entry to startup, so they re-started once again if u reboot the machine. kill the process first and then delete all infected files, also get rid of bad start-up entries.

it's possible, but mostly they will track your key strokes. dont use online transaction if your comp is infected.

There really is no way someone can hack anyone's PC, while surfing Defence.pk.

The #1 ingredient, your IP address (for the uninitiated, a unique number assigned to each and every device connected to a modern day networks - in this case a unique identifier for all of the internet - that is hidden from everybody else.

We guard user privacy details like a holy book.

It may be possible to target someone for surfing particular websites at your local ISP level, meaning your local government would be involved. Everyone has a right to their privacy but we would encourage everyone to cooperate with the law enforcement agencies (within reason of course) and do not advise any one to break their rules.
