ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Ayesha Gulalai Wazir has decided to quit the party. She is highly likely to join Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), according to sources.

Our correspondent said Ayesha Gulalai is parting ways with PTI over some differences.

“The MNA says she has some grievances with PTI leadership over ‘humiliation’ of workers,” a source said.

According to our correspondent, she is annoyed with PTI Chairman Imran Khan “for humiliating some party workers.” However; there are no confirmed details available in this regard.

There are reports that Gulalai has not yet decided to join any political party; however, there is a strong possibility that she may join PML-N as she has met PML-N leader from KP, Amir Muqam, recently.

She is likely to announce her final decision in press conference.

On the other hand, some PTI leaders are making efforts to convince her and address her concerns.

Her decision came on the day when National Assembly is electing a new prime minister. It was even unclear whether or not she will take part in the voting process. –

Just before the election for the new prime minister on Tuesday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Ayesha Gulalai announced that she was quitting the party.

Though she did not immediately elaborate on the reasons for quitting the party, sources said she was unhappy over the the PTI’s decision to choose Awami Muslim League leader Sheikh Rashid as its candidate for the prime minister’s slot. In fact, she did not even attend the PTI’s parliamentary meeting held to discuss the election.

There are also reports that Gulalai was not pleased with PTI chief Imran Khan as he “humiliated” party activists.

Wazir is an MNA on a reserved seat from South Waziristan.

The sources also said Gulalai was likely to join the PML-N.

Who will succeed Sharif? MPs decide today

The National Assembly will convenes on Tuesday to elect a new leader of the house after the Supreme Court deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif and disqualified him from holding a public office for hiding assets in his nomination papers for the 2013 general elections.

The parliamentary party of PML-N named Sharif’s younger brother, Shahbaz Sharif, as his successor over the weekend, but he must first enter parliament by contesting the seat left vacant by Sharif.

In the meantime the ruling party, which enjoys a majority in parliament, has nominated Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the petroleum minister in Sharif’s cabinet, as interim prime minister.
