All the American good works for BD must be reciprocated by BD. A small country cannot just remain truly independent in the true sense.

And in the case of BD, America has invested too many billions of dollars in the social and infrastructure development sectors since 1947 that it does not want it to see going under the Chinese feet, debt trap or no debt trap.

The USA dislikes BD to become another pariah country like North Korea. This is why the USA and its allies are making a concerted effort to steer away BD to the democratic fundamentals.

If you think USA only have democracies as allies then you are simply peddling propaganda. If anything, America is a realist oriented country and despotical Egypt, Saudi, Indonesia, Chile and other dictatorial regimes, prove that US have had countless such non-democratic allies.

Ok, Uncle SAM, we want good relations with you but NOT at the expense of alienating our near neighour China that will become a full-spectrum superpower in the next 10-15 years.

We BD'shis have no problem with either the West or the Chinese and do not make the mistake of thinking that you can force us to choose over the medium to long-term.

Your power will wane drastically in the 2030s as China is able to match you both economically, technologically and militarily.

Accept that we are a neutral state and then we can have mutually beneficial relations as otherwise your decline will accelerate due to arrogance.

Bro it wasnt my intention to make Indonesia sound like a bad country or something like that. I have journeyd in Indonesia, its a wonderful country. I was just trying to show that historically the US has supported many dictators.
