The Supreme Court has admitted the petition for hearing after setting aside the objections raised by the Registrar of the apex court.Zaid Hamid, aka Lal Topi Wala, had filed an appeal against the objections made by the Registrar’s Office .
The court has directed the office to fix this petition for hearing before it. These directives were issued by Justice Nasirul Mulk during the course of hearing of this petition in his chamber on Tuesday.

Zaid Hamid had filed the application in the SC seeking the institution of treason case against senior journalists, including Hamid Mir, Najam Sethi, Hassan Nisar, Marvi Sarmad, Imtiaz Alam, Nusrat Javed and Asma Jahangir. The SC registrar had raised objections to it. The petitioner had made the South Asian Free Media Association (Safma) and the Ministry of Information as respondents in his application filed in 2012.
