SC should investigate Mirza’s accusations: Shahbaz Sharif – The Express Tribune
LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Monday demanded the formation of a bench of Supreme Court judges to investigate former Sindh Senior Minister leader Zulfikar Mirzas accusations.
(Read: Zulfiqar Mirza lets it all out)
Sharif said that the Supreme Court should form a commission that will rake notice of Mirzas accusations against the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Interior Minister Rehman Malik.
If these accusations are true then the criminals should be punished, he said.
He added that people deserve to know the truth.
Mirza on Sunday lashed out against Rehman Malik calling him a congenital liar and the single biggest threat to Pakistans future as well as saying that the MQM was working on an American agenda to break-up the country.
Most parties from across the political spectrum commented on Mirzas remarks against Malik and the MQM, with many calling upon the Supreme Court to take Mirza up on his offer to submit evidence.
The timing is perfect since the Supreme Court begins a hearing on the violence in Karachi on Monday (today), said Senator Tariq Azim of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q). The nation will soon learn who is telling the truth.
