SC ponders over whether Pakistan can be declared a secular state

I'm sorry to say but Two Nation Theory failed the day Bangladesh got separated from us, also more Muslims live in India than in Pakistan, so what 2 Nation theory are you on about, please elaborate??

The whole point of Pakistan in my opinion is a Muslim majority state in the subcontinent, we should strive for a secular Pakistan to get rid of Mullahism.
it didnt fail, the fact that idea that was pakistan created on Islamic lines was never ever established

Pakistan should be a moderate Muslim state, not a Mullah state who want to impose 'Shariah' law and other bullsh*t like that.

To get rid of mullahism and extremism, we should focus on modern education which is basics of islam.
more muslim lives in india? pakistan was made on muslim majority areas of united india.
two nation theory failed? theory would have been failed if bangladeshi would have said we are no more living with u just on religious basis there were other factors. islam cannot bind if there are discrimination and conflicts between two brothers. division does not mean we dont care for bangalis

And what Islamic lines are that?? Can you elaborate??

Combining Bangladesh (East Pakistan) & West Pakistan on the basis of religion when both had severe geographic, cultural and languaistic differences was a huge mistake and separation of Bangladesh proved that.

Hi,

there is no such thing as moderate muslim. If you take out the mullah of Islam,. then you see how progressive this model is.

In fact i remember saying of Iqbal, that when i visit West i see dont see muslims but i see Islam, but when i come to East all i see is Muslism but no Islam

if pakistan would have establish those line on which it was created, bangla would not have seprated.

Hi,
Please broaden your narrow perspective for a moment.

What unites Pakistan as of now? a country with four different culture, language and heritage.

Islam is what unites us. (now that's another debate that a genuine Islamic pricnicples that this country was found upon were never established)

So you see having geographical differences and linguistic difference don't matter much, the Ideal of Islamic Values is way above these

if pakistan would have establish those line on which it was created, bangla would not have seprated.
Hi,
where have you been all this time sir?

this what exactly i ' m talking about

pakistan was made on muslim majority areas of united india.

Yes, it was and why can't be that Pakistan a secular state with Muslim majority??

Yes we care for Benglais, but do they??

If if religion could be a great binding factor than why are there still so many conflicts of states within Pakistan??? Balochistan not happy, Sindh and KPK etc etc.

Also why can't Afghanistan,Iran and Pakistan combine and form a Single Country?? (On the basis of Religion) again??

Hi,
tell what country on earth follows genuine islamic principles?
hell the so called state of Saud is not even remotely an Islamic state.

with such limited knowledge of yours, I'm starting to question the knowledge of Islam you have ( if any)

No disrespect intended my friend

i talked about reunion? or union? iran and afgha. were not part of united india. in creation of pakistan, vast ideology of islam was focused on making a separate land for muslims of india where they can test the islamic tradition, teachings and laws.
where secularism is concerned, i believe that islam gives more rights to non-muslim. matter is dont let mullahs exploit religion. i have studied about how Muhammad PBUH treated jews and taifs. we are nation of that prophet who prayed for those who hurt him, throwed stones on him. and we are killing each other.
it is common saying that islam halts science and technology, oh illiterates! islam is the only religion who emphasis to explore and study. u know y there is al in algebra, alkali and other?

Hi,
the power on those mullahs are not granted by law, but by the local uneducated masses. education is something that we should focus on.

Council of Islamic Ideology?

I agree most power comes from the uneducated masses though. My point is if you start at the top and dismantle these organisations then it certainly helps. This is something that can happen immediately (with quick effect), educating the masses will take longer.

Changing name won't do shit, people need to change their mentality and be more tolerant.
That's the entire point of the debate. If the people want, can Pakistan be declared an secular state? It's a good debate to have, as it future proofs any such event that may come up. Perhaps a referendum is the only legal way to go about it, perhaps there are other legal ways.

I'm guessing you don't know the definition of secularism..

Lemme help you.

  1. Secularism is a principle that involves two basic propositions. The first is the strict separation of the state from religious institutions. The second is that people of different religions and beliefs are equal before the law.

What's wrong with that?? You'll still remain a Muslim in a Muslim majority country, free to follow your religious duties and everything.

Just that state affairs would be separate from Religion and every Pakistani (including Minorities) would be considered as the equal citizens of Pakistan free to follow their religious rituals.

Isn't it what Quiad said too?? Go and read his 11th August Speech. Thanks !

Hi,
No, you will only fuel the fire with that. When i say educated i just dont mean illiterate people. I mean with limited or no knowledge of Islam.

People like Mullah drum of Sunni council and Amir liaquat are not representing islam, but merely using it as tool to influence people

My dear,

when is the last time you ever read Islamic book on how to run a country or seen a Khalifah model?

which was far superior model to that of any secular model ever developed. The islamic model that recognized all humans beings equal.

It is true such model was never adopted and soon after the kahlifas the model turned from khilafat to mulokiyat.
