KESC has increased its rate by 29 Paisa per unit. It has been done just 36 days after the enforcement of the new Budget in which it was as usual announced that the Budget is tax free and there will be no supplementary budget. New excise duty has been levied on more than 30 banking service eg on closing of account. This was done after the tax free announced budget but before its approval and pending its enforcement. And so on. Will the Honourable Supreme Court which is taking so much interest in community matters, take note and direct that in future in any Budget Speech, may that be the national or any municipality budget, the word “Tax free and no supplementary budget will come” is not used and its use be declared prohibited. This relief will save the general public from blood pressure, reduction in blood pressure related diseases etc.
