Savior of Pakistani Music, Patari Brings Us The ‘Pakistani Tupac’ From Balochistan And We Love Him!
By S.K Pakistan Posted on January 16, 2017
Pakistan’s music industry has seen a nauseating decline ever since the mid 2000s. In a bid to rejuvenate the music industry, Patari, a musical application startup, has revived the dead horse by flogging it against the wind. Patari’s new series of promoting hidden talent from Pakistan, ‘Tabeer’, gave out its first hit with a Baloch rapper from Sibbi, Balochistan, called Abid Brohi.
The song, called ‘The Sibbi Song’ feat. Abid Brohi and SomeWhatSuper is something that is bound to make it to your playlist. Abid Brohi, an errand boy from Sibbi, is winning hearts already. The beat of the song makes it all the more crazy, with SomeWhatSuper doing a massive job with different effects on the tune.
The lyrics of the song in Urdu say:
“Kab milayn ge hum, O re jaani, o mere jaani, kab milayn ge hum? – Mujhe phone ker ke bulaya, aap ne hazaar ka cash mangwaya, aap jaani ho jaani mere dil ki raani ho – Jaisa Sukkur waisa Makhar – Jahan Jhatpatt wahan vaar putt (naayi) – Larkaano, wahan maakano (kaanay) – Hyderabadi, na aurat na mard (ouch) – Kab milayn ge hum?”
In English, the lyrics read:
“When will we meet? O my love, o my love when will we meet? – You phoned me and called me over and you asked for a thousand in cash too – You’re my beloved you’re the queen of my heart – Those form Sukkur are Makhars (a tribe), From Jhatpatt are Vaar putts (barbers), Larkaano, are maakaanos (full of one eyed people), Hyderabadis aren’t men nor women – When will we meet?”

The song is already sending the internet into a frenzy and appreciating Patari for their valiant work in promoting hidden talent from different regions of Pakistan. Abid, who is a local of Sibbi, belongs to the Brohi tribe. Sibbi is located 3 hours away from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan. However, the song has been sung in Sindhi, where Abid the rapper is singing for his beloved on when they would meet.

The song generally discusses how people of different areas are, mainly Sukkur, Larkana, Jhatpatt (Balochistan) and Hyderabad. Hands down, SomeWhatSuper has made the song 10x crazier and the song is definitely worth the small space on your playlist. As for Patari, no matter how much you appreciate their work, it wouldn’t fit up to the Tabeer series’ work.

We at Parhlo are anxiously waiting for the rest of the Patari releases. Till then, let us salvage the marvel of ‘The Sibbi Song’.
