Saudi Typhoon jets make surprise visit to Zeltweg air show

Two Royal Saudi Air Force Eurofighter Typhoons are making a surprise appearance at the AirPower 11 air show at Zeltweg in Austria, en route to their home in the Middle East.

Being held at the Austrian air force's main Eurofighter operating base on 1-2 July and celebrating the 100th anniversary of the service's formation, the event has attracted 224 aircraft from 22 countries and various eras.

Saudi Arabia's two newest single-seat Typhoons are visiting Zeltweg during their delivery from BAE Systems' Warton final assembly site in Lancashire, the UK. After the show they will continue their journey via stops in Bari, Italy, Rhodes and Sharm-el-Sheikh in Egypt. BAE has already delivered 20 of the nation's eventual 72 Typhoon jets.

Riyadh has also deployed its Royal Saudi Hawks aerobatic display team to the show.

I can't wait till we our boys come back from Britain with all the knowledge they got at the assembly of these beauties.
Coolest part is we will be installing our own Radar system and our own Laser guiding systems on these planes.

Please elaborate on the radar part. Seems interesting.

Saudis May Buy Selex
" The contracts with the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology cover the delivery of Picosar and e-scan technologies for joint research, development and demonstration purposes".
Why do you think we bought the technology??

Oh and you guys know what e-scan radar is used for right??

.
Our own radar system? Lol. You don't have any radar system for the typhoon that you can call your own.

You can say the same thing without sounding condescending man.

If I learned anything from the few days here is that everyone looks down on saudis stereotyping and condescending them and calling them the enemies.
I was really really disappointed by some of my pakistani brothers here.

translation "Thank you you are right " Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance" and we have in our prophet a role model of preaching and going through hardships for it. But one do what one can and we are not doing enough and I am not denying it. but Inshallah the future is the best proof."

This is the translation.

Maybe you can start a new thread.... Why some Pakistanis harbor ill feelings for Saudis? We can discuss it there.

. .
I have no ill feelings for saudis/arabs at all 100%, i consider you as my brothers but the same can't be said about some arabs as they look down on Pakistanis. Sorry i couldn't help coming across as condescending. If and when saudi arabia or any other muslim country has the capability to r&d and produce state of the art technologies such as radars i will be the first to be proud of this achievement for example the turks.

The saudi's should initiate r&d TOT with the likes of aselan aswell as selex etc but you must admit you have no chance at the moment of producing such technologies. With the vast resources allah has bestowed on the arab lands they should be leading the way in innovation by investing in these kind of industries but instead they merely buy of the shelf and serve to fill the pockets of others. In fact they would rather spend their money on luxury items than the betterment of the ummah.

If there is anything i hate about saudis then it is only the regime. They are hypocritical, they are western puppets. They will argue the tenets of islam in the middle east and export their extreme form of wahabism and then take holidays to the west for alcohol, fornication, adultery etc

At the moment no and I admit we missed the train of innovation by 500 years. so it is going to be a while for us to catch up and saying we could have done it sooner is not true at all either. as I said the difference in Saudi Arabia is a difference by generations. Since each generation faces a wave of new modernization to what was once a barren desert but one day will be the Islamic hub for research and development inshallah. King.Abdullah is actually what is driving us in the right direction and I see him as a true leader and I have nothing but respect for him.
But as far as the entire family goes yes most of the people hate their guts by the current king is a blessing from God.
