If you like it or not most of the tall buildings around the world are designed by Western Architects.

Has anyone given a thought to the dire conditions the workers from India and Pakistan live in to make those monstrosities for the obscenely rich Arab Sheiks? These edifices are built on the blood sweat and tears of these migrant workers. Do these Sheiks even care? Billions of dollars to be one up on the other but nix for the welfare of those poor toiling laborers!

Okay let us see... Say you are a business man and you had a choice between a worker who is willing to take 1200 Ryals a month and would not ask for either lodgings or anything just a pay check. And between a worker who would not take less than 3500 RIyals a month along with dental and health what would you choose?

You do not seriously expect minimum wage workers are going to come and get an apartment each now do you? (Housing is a very difficult thing here in Saudi Arabia where only about 30% of the population owns homes because of how fast the population is increasing getting a place to live is very hard and housing is very expensive now and it is getting even more expensive which is why all those Asian workers are living together to split the expensive pay)

Yes they are making money, but its their money besides saudi arabia lends alot of money to outside. we need find out the source that makes those people starve and occupied .. the source is not saudi not giving them money but its countries like usa and israel bullying them and taking their lands.

It's definitely bragging rights trumping practicality. The money would be infinitely better spent putting humans on the moon or Mars. THAT is bragging rights!

Last thought - the bragging rights last as long as it takes for another country to beat it. These days, that's only taking a few years. It's like the world record for the 100 meters dash, as the record goes from 11.12, 11.08, 10.96, 10.89, etc.
