ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) chief and former premier Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif will leave for Saudi Arabia on September 11 in the backdrop of recent meetings between former president Pervez Musharraf and Saudi King Shah Abdullah.
According to media reports, Sharif during his stay in Saudi Arabia will hold talks with Saudi King Shah Abdullah and Saudi Intelligence Chief Shahzada Muqran. Sources said, former president Musharraf has pinned high hopes on Saudi Arabia instead of US and UK to stop legal action against him in Pakistan.
He is also expecting Sharif to listen to Saudi King Shah Abdullah. The policy of the PML-N, with regard to the trial of Musharraf, is likely to change after the former premier's visit to Saudi Arabia.
Saudi envoy to Pakistan Abdul Aziz Ibrahim Al Ghadeer in a recent interview said his country will intervene to reconcile Pakistani politicians only if asked to play such a role. -Online
