It is a difficult situation, as us Pukhtoons of Pakistan will support Afghanistan if it was ever threatened by any other nation other then Pakistan as they are our people, we share same culture language and heritage and it is the same for Iranic people of Iran who we feel some connection with so we would like to show solidarity with them in their hour of need if any aggressive moves are made by the Arabs, regardless of what path our government takes.

Iran was sunni majority few hundred years ago till Turkic shia rulers converted them forcefully to shiasm.

Religion doesn't really matter, I consider myself a Pakistani and feel connected to this land, now a Muslim of Lucknow may share same religion as me but to me he is still an enemy as my nation becomes primary and religion secondary.
