Saudi King meets Azerbaijan’s president

Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud met with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev in the royal palace at the capital Riyadh on Sunday, the state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The talks, which were attended by senior officials including Prince Saud al-Faisal, minister of Foreign affairs, and Crown Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz and Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, focused on opportunities towards bilateral cooperation between the countries, which are both oil export heavyweights.

The two heads of state also discussed regional and international developments, according to SPA.

Earlier, King Salman had met President Aliyev at the Riyadh air base airport.

During the talks session, they discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries and means of enhancing them in various fields. They also reviewed the latest developments on regional and international arenas.
The talks session was attended by Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Crown Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier; Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region; Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Minister of National Guard; Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior; Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense, President of Royal Court and Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban; Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf; Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah; Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Adel bin Zaid Altoraifi; and Saudi Ambassador to Azerbaijan Musaed bin Ibrahim Al-Saleem.
The talks session was also attended by Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and a number of officials.

Azerbaijan is not interested in JF-17. talks with Pakistan has been about missile technology.
BTW, Azerbaijan has 50-60+ billion dollars surplus of gold and foreign exchange. No need for foreign cash.

I don't hate anyone except for foul mouth extremist terrorists like that Jordanian guy. Arabs are a 400 million population nation. Why should I hate them?!!!
As long as invasion against yemen is concerned, it's not our business, and our government should not participate in favor of any party, which is what I guess is going to happen.

There was a report that Azerbaijan Air Force is going to purchase some JF-17's and some sort of understanding was also signed. What happened to it later one is not known.

There was a report that Azerbaijan Air Force is going to purchase some JF-17's and some sort of understanding was also signed. What happened to it later one is not known.

I know what you are talking about, but that report is not true. The talks were/are mostly about selling/technology transfer of Pakistani missiles, which Pakistani sides willingly announced that they are ready to sell any weapon/missile and technologies that we want. A declaration of strategic partnership was signed as well.

One of the most positive points of Azerbaijani government is about being harsh on islamists. No, we don't let such people to roam freely inside our beautiful land. Azerbaijan has a clear and clever unannounced policy. If someone is from such groups, they can either go outside of country, or go to jail, No third option. Our country our rules. Don't mistake us with westerners whom are too much liberal and open-minded about concepts like ancient superstitions. I don't need to respect any religion because they are all old bullcraps, but I have respect for you, because you are my fellow human being, not because you are following some ideology.
Saudi is free to have business with us, and it's appreciated, but if you decide to send islamic scholars, ... then our policy would be changed. Almost all ex-soviet countries(maybe except for Tajikistan? I don't know much about Tajikistan) have this similar policy if you want to do business with them. I hope you know what I mean. Sunni-Shite in general is not important for us, what is important, is having no islamism. If you respect us and our rules, you would not see and receive anything from us but respect.

The Visit is more to do with the low prices of Oil which azerbijan is suffering from at the moment. The azeri have banked too much of their budget on high oil prices revenue but they are not as iran or algeria whe it comes to their budget shortage. still the azeri turks probarly just wanted to be in the loop and have a one on one with the king.
