Two states is based on UN Resolution 181 which created Israel, giving away most of Palestine to Israel. But, Palestine is a sovereign state recognized by UN, and Israel occupies it. Here is the problem.

In America and in most countries you can defend yourself with lethal force if someone breaks into people's homes or trespass on their land. alQaida in Afghanistan had more right to be called civilian [which they are not]. If armed people in civilian clothes took over part of a country they will not be called civilian. Moreover, they are backed by the military of a foreign state. If you look at the 48 map, Israel has taken lots of territory belonging to Palestine, illegally.

Palestine is a UN recognized state and your view is very Eurocentric, very skewed. If you live in the Middle East, in the actual Semitic civilization, you will see how pervasive Palestine is to the people. They are not comparable to Aborigines. There are people like Aborigines in the Middle East, Arab Bedouins, who don't have a state/national cultural identity, who can and do serve in anyone's army including Israel's.
