Saudi car spotted in Jaffa

Saudi car spotted in Tel Aviv owned by American expat | Kingdom | Saudi Gazette

@Saif al-Arab

This Saudi number plate proves the theory of conspiracy against Islam and Muslims. Mercedes is a German car...which means it is a Christian car visiting Yahudistan carrying an American (possibly a CIA agent) with riyals and a Saudi number plate. Boom.

If you closely analyze the number plate it is UAJ-3417...A = America, J = Jews and U = United. The number 3417 has a far more sinister meaning which I would rather not discuss.

On a more serious note...why don't the Saudi government actually lead in normalizing the relations with Israel? I see this as the only way the Bakistani sheebs and the devoid of any brain cells Pakistani government might follow suit.

In all seriouness I don't think that there are any signs of normalization. The only thing that "unites" both countries is their opposition agains the "Arab" Mullah's ruling Iran. Good luck trying to get the clergy on board and the hardliners. Although my impression is that locals in KSA are more open for a normalization with Israel once the Palestinian conflict is solved than many other Muslim countries.

I don't expect anything from the leaders of the Muslim world. The new generation and future ones are/will be the hope.

Can Saudi Arabian citizens or Arab citizens not from Egypt, Jordan and Morocco visit Israel? For instance the Haram al-Sharif? The old city of Jerusalem is de facto controlled by the Israeli regime but internationally it is recognized as occupied Palestinian territory.

Or do they have to travel to the West Bank and from there enter Jerusalem? I could easily visit using my French passport but I am just curious here. I remember reading about this topic some time ago but I forgot the exact rules.

My impression is that Israel has not banned Arabs or people from states that do not recognize Israel from traveling to Israel. Is that right?
I think you are right, I've got the same impression as yours, but honestly I don't know.

Saudi car spotted in Jaffa
Businessman apparently drives from conservative kingdom to Israel

BY ELHANAN MILLER July 26, 2015, 4:39 pm

Cars with foreign license plates are rare enough in Israel, but the one spotted in Jaffa on Friday caused quite a stir.

Army Radio’s Arab Affairs reporter Jacky Hugi spotted a silver Mercedes parked near Jaffa’s Clock Tower bearing a Saudi license plate — a highly unusual, if not unprecedented sight in Israel. He quickly pulled out his camera, sharing the image on Twitter.

“The nuclear deal with Iran is starting to prove itself,” he wrote, in ironic reference to the shared concern over Iran’s nuclear project that has made unlikely private allies of Israel and Saudi Arabia..

:tup::tup::tup: I am ALL for mutually shared, beneficial and respectful relationships between Israel and all Muslim countries. People should go for pleasure or business to places across the border and break all these religious and personal bias based barriers.

Slowly, people connecting with people will overwrite the entire conflict. These guys used to live together for centuries. That should happen again so a peaceful world and humanity can prevail, and the world would become a much better, safer and financially prosperous place!!!

I think you are right, I've got the same impression as yours, but honestly I don't know.

I have seen Israeli tourists in Jordan and Morocco (most had ancestral ties to those countries probably) personally but those Arab countries have open relations with Israel and have recognized Israel. I assume that citizens from those countries have visited Israel too.

Now the question is if for instance an Yemeni (you might know about the big Jewish Yemeni community in Israel - one of the biggest and oldest Jewish communities in the world) can visit Israel in theory. Meaning if Israel allows visits from countries that do not recognize them officially. KSA, Pakistan, Iran etc. could be other examples.

My impression is that they do but I am not 100% sure and I don't know the visa rules for such visitors or whether they can visit the West Bank or Gaza freely for instance or travel within Israel without problems.

Most Israelis, whether European Jews or Arab Jews tend to have relatives in their ancestral lands and some even have passports for personal reasons (this is beneficial for Israelis) and they are sometimes visiting their ancestral lands using non-Israeli passports.

Also are there many Arab tourists/visitors in Israel other than Israeli Arabs and Palestinians (obviously) in general? Do you ever spot people from the GCC, for instance businessmen, investors, families wanting to visit Jerusalem etc.?

@500 do you know about the situation? I am just curious.

What you are saying is absolutely correct and the perfect scenario. Unfortunately the nature of the regimes of the region and certain people among them, the political and ground realities in an area of ever-lasting conflict like Israel/Palestine makes it easier said than done. In reality if Israelis and Palestinians looked past their political differences they would probably get along fine. I am talking about the majority here. I have no doubt about that.

Arabs and Jews lived together for millenniums as neighbors and are related people. Throughout most of history, as you yourself wrote, the ties were more cordial than quarrelsome.

Yes, maybe KSA will beg Israel for military support and weapon purchases when at war with a fellow Muslim country and neighbor.

Let's not even start to talk about the era before the 1979 "Islamic" revolution.

Meanwhile in the real world:

In any case Arab-Israeli relations is not the business of Iran or Iranians. Unless they are Iranian Arabs. You are located over 1500 km away from Israel for God's sake. On the other hand you can see Israel (Eilat) with your eyes from KSA (Gulf of Haql).

Lastly the car turned out to belong to an American living in KSA.
