RIYADH: Police in Mumbai have broken up a crime ring that robbed foreign tourists, arresting four key members including the gang leader who is named in over 40 theft cases.
The ring, which operated in mostly in south Mumbai, is suspected to have targeted 44 Arab visitors in the past few years.
The arrests came after the mugging of 70-year-old Saudi Hussain Ali Mubarak, whose tour of prominent locations turned into a nightmare.
Mubarak arrived in Mumbai on Aug. 4 and the following day he visited top tourist spots. After taking dinner at a popular restaurant, he hailed a taxi to go back to his hotel. The cab driver suddenly changed the route and took Mubarak to a dark lane. “I soon realized that something was wrong,” Mubarak said.
Six men dragged him out of the taxi and thrashed him before snatching 87,000 Indian rupees and SR6,000 from him. They abandoned him on the road and drove off.
A 40-strong police team was formed which nabbed the driver identified as 31-year-old Bhimrao Ratan Kale.
Kale revealed the names of the other thugs. Gang leader Ganesh Pawar and other suspects were arrested, and part of the cash — 85,000 Rupees and SR1,900 — was recovered. The arrests were made within 48 hours of the incident.

The Indian authorities should do everything in their power to prevent similar unfortunate incidents from occurring again as Arabs traveling to South Asia (India mainly) are usually very wealthy and a good business for the local tourism sector. Such instances might also scare them away.

The Indian authorities should not forget about the huge number of wealthy Arab tourists and the sheer number of Arabs (450 million - a number that will increase significantly btw). In the future the enormous Arab middle class will become wealthier and they might choose to pick India (which is not located that far away) as their tourist destination more often.

Police should take every action to prevent such incidents .
You can see such thugs in every parts of the world .
Recently Five Romanians came to India as tourists/guests and looted local people money through ATM .
But we wont generalize entire Tourists .

lol @ this madrassi!

Ask him why when there is any video about slums in India it's his dark people that are always shown? I've never seen a documentary that shows poverty in India where the people look like us North Indians

As far as we know , there are alots of North Indians works as laboueres in South India ,millions of them .Locals can easily identify them as North Indians ,not because of their color but because of their language and their size.

This is what I've been saying, these South Indians are massively jealous of us. I've been to Chennai, that place is worse than Agra. No amount of propaganda is going to change the reality that south India is worse than North India, the real North India not Eastern UP and Bihar which are Eastern India.

Where does the Vedas come from? North India
Where does Bollywood come from? North India
Where do saris originate from? North India

Their religion, their architecture, their philosophy, their whole culture, it all comes from North India. They know it and they hate that.

Jealous ??
One of my friend visited North India except Himachal Pradesh all other visits was a nightmare to him .
Ahh just stop it and read the racist/inferiority complex South Indian like nilgiri comments and just enjoy the show how South India is heaven and North India is hell.

It's open my eyes of how much they feel inferior to us so i will go back to my North Indian slum and loot someone.

Now final touch from me will be posting racist picture so here is my karma -

@Sargon of Akkad
Well, I have already stated my opinion on this and you're free to disagree with it. I actually was agreeing with most of what you were saying, just not all. However let's agree to disagree here and not derail your thread.

Peace.

Reasons for Bihar to leave the Indian Union and form an independent state, courtesy of USER :thrownwa on reddit:

  1. Deliberate central policies to hurt economic prospects of Bihar: We all know the story of freight equalization policy that was used by GoI to steal the mineral wealth of Bihar and larger eastern India. Under this policy the transportation cost of selected minerals was subsidized by the central government which meant that any mineral included in this list will be available at the same price anywhere in India. The natural location advantage enjoyed by Eastern States was thus denied and the industries went to financially rich coastal regions of west and south. Had this policy not been in place many industries would have set-up their factories in Eastern India. Interestingly minerals that are found in western or southern India like oil from Mumbai-high were conveniently excluded from this list. Talk about double whammy. According to one estimate, Bihar lost Rs 1,12,812 crore just through the freight-equalization of steel alone. In the name of curing 'regional imbalance' and fostering 'equality' south-Indian industrialist and then finance minister T T Krishnamachari enacted this policy. The same notion of equality that was once used to discriminate against Biharis is now invoked to deny Bihar the special status. One wonders how little has changed both in terms of rhetoric and intention in all these years.

  2. Differential and discriminatory public spending allocation for Bihar to impede it's growth: Anyone even vaguely familiar with policy-science would recognize the positive role played by government spending in region's macroeconomy. When we compare planned allocation for Bihar with the developed states such as Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat and Maharashtra, it becomes clear that Bihar has been systematically deprived of funds. Gujarat, Maharashtra and Haryana received per capita allocation of more than double that of Bihar during the entire plan period. Thus we see Bihar was not poor it was made poor and it was kept poor.

  3. State-sponsored violence against Biharis: People from Bihar are routinely targeted outside of Bihar by members of ruling party, opposition and general public. Instrument of law-enforcement is used to extort money from them and their vulnerability in alien-country is exploited to deny them their proper wages. Often drugs and other dangerous substances are used to make them work longer hour. In the worst case they are also murdered as different events show. All these go with the help of silent and active consent of respective states.

  4. Historical, cultural, linguistic, religious and other reasons: Bihar has always been an independent nation of its own. Even when it included other regions, sovereignty flowed from Bihar and not the other way round . Present union thus by and large has no precedence in history. Culturally Bihar and let's say Gujarat are as similar as day and night. In the same vain Bihar's unique linguistic, cultural and religious heritage which have only been mocked till now today face complete annihilation. Some Biharis have even been made to think that Bihar is somehow burden to India when in fact the reality is completely reverse.
