Saudi Arabia is refusing to allow cargo aircraft loaded with defence items to fly from Pakistan to Nigeria through its airspace, This Day reported on 29 December.

Citing unidentified intelligence sources, the Nigerian newspaper said Riyadh's decision to block the deliveries was linked to the US decision to halt the sale of Israeli Cobra attack helicopters to Nigeria.

State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki confirmed on 12 November that the US had blocked the transfer of Cobra attack helicopters due to "concerns about Nigeria's ability to use and maintain this type of helicopter [and] concerns about the Nigerian military's protection of civilians when conducting military operations" against the militant group Boko Haram.

The Americans will probably be selling Nigeria arms next week after the UN vote last night.

@al-Hasani are you involved in this? :D

No, I have my brothel to look after here in Copenhagen.:D

Anyway most simpletons in this thread will link that supposed decision as KSA supporting the Boko Haram lunatics when nothing could be further from the reality.

It's not different from the US decision that this article talks about.

Point in case is that people should educate themselves about the current situation in Nigeria. The Boko Haram are lunatics but the Nigerian regime (military) is not that far behind.

This thread and the links and video it contains will explain it further.

I don't think that any powers want to have much to do with the current civil war in Nigeria. Outside of protecting the South and its oil.

If the weapons will fall into enemy hands or be misused (both pretty much certain scenarios) KSA or USA will be blamed for either supporting terror or all the ills of Nigeria. I for once hope that the House of Saud do not involve themselves in Nigeria at all. Nothing that we can do. Nigerians have been infighting for the past 50 years. Long before Boko Haram. I don't see any end to it to be quite frank with you.

Nigeria has asked US to add Boko Haram to terrorist lists for many years, but even with last years' female students kidnapped issue, US still refused it. To some extent, this is another case to show how US to control regional big countries and interfere with their internal affairs.
