Saudi Arabia Joining BRICS and what it implies..

Do people not bother even reading the label on the bottle? How on earth are China and India in an 'alliance'? They literally had a military skirmish just a short while back. Also Turkey and KSA?!
This grouping was created in early 2000s by a Goldman Sachs boss who was trying to meme his way into leaving a mark on the corporate finance world. It became super popular as people from these countries lapped it up as it said some very nice things about their future. Then everything tanked in 2008, except for China.
Get this, after his success with the BRIC paper, Jim O'Neill tried to repeat the trick with another grouping - "The Next 11". 2008 crash put paid to that as well.
BRICS (originally BRIC) as a group in 2022 is a complete meme. One member is sanctioned to Neptune and back. Another one has a Detroit tier crime rate and an economy in a standstill since 2010. No one thinks Brazil is 'taking off' anymore. India is modestly trundling along. Only China is the exception.

Don't laugh. We have this thing called NATO, Greece and Turkey are members. Unlike BRICS, which is mostly a talking and photo ops club, NATO is a treaty alliance. That means one country will fight and send its young men and women to die for another country. But Greece and Turkey, left unrestrained, would like to fight with each other. BRICS is meaningless with India in it. India is an enemy of China.
