Saudi Arabia demonstrates full military capability

to be honest, i have 4 Saudi naval personnel studying with me, and the way they conduct themselves.....if Pakistani naval personnel conduct themselves in this way, they would be thrown out of the navy without a warning.

the sudanis and palestinians on the other hand try to study and work hard.

Talking to Saudi Naval personnel myself honestly, a lot of them apply for the Pakistani training rota as a vacation, not as a studying and exercise program, because if you want promotions etc, it only goes to higher grade people who get selected for American, French and British training. So if you are going to judge Saudi military on the guys who want to go to Pakistan knowing that it will probably not advance their careers in anyway, and actually go there to treat it as a vacation go ahead, but those guys do not represent the core of the Military Establishment. just some young officers who want some time off.

Why do pakistanis have such a low impression of saudi forces? I have come across threads that say pakistani pilots fly those shiny new toys saudi buy. The saudis look very professional and well equipped. On the other hand, the people who point fingers at saudi professionalism are the ones who are suffering attacks on their military assets. You rarely hear a terrorist attack in saudi. Moreover, the sympathy in the armed forces for terrorists in such nation is a grave disgrace. I guess that speaks volumes about professionalism and discipline.

Saudi forces have always relied on outsiders to help them out whenever they had conflicts.

During the Makkah Seige, it was French and Pakistani special forces that took the Kabaa back and Saudis got massacared.

During the Gulf War, USA did western nations did all the fighting, Saudis were given token missions.

Recently, Saudis did perform well against the Shia Yemenis and successfully fought Al Qaeda.

Like they are capable at smaller units, but mavouvering division sized force in major combat is yet to be seen.

You answered yourself,
"Yet to be seen" so don't make judgments, this exercise is a scenario of a three front invasion, from the north, from the east and from the south simultaneously.

Oh and the Makkah Seige is waaaaaaaaaaay over rated the participation of foreign troops, one of my relatives is a retired national guard officer, there were only three French advisers who failed. About 20 Pakistani troops who held a token mission, and vast majority was Saudi national guard work, it was a retired National Guard officer who oversaw the breaking attempt eventually, Mohammed Al-Shammari.

This is a great initiative. These exercises should continue on an ongoing basis to stay current with the state of combat readiness.

A lot of fire power from the tanks and light armoured vehicle, I should add that the video was edited with a lot of modesty, it is nothing more than a very small sample of Saudi capabilities. We barely see 1 or 2 F-15s and one EF.

Oh come on! Everyone here knows that Saudi military is a joke. No wonder why they always need someone else's help to defend themselves. They called us Pakistanis for help during Siege of Kaaba in 1979. When Iraq invaded Kuwait and threatened Saudi oilfields, who came for help but US and her allies. And now Saudis are begging for grand alliance against new threats from ISIS, Iran. What a horrible military performance from the richest Arab nation that once conquered entire Middle East and North Africa, destroying once great Persian and Roman empires in few decades.

As I told you before you still write more jokes , and to be honest it's Disgusting this time .

If we ask anybody for help from our allies then we are joke !
Who learn you that !?

If the things goes like what you said ,then :

EC countries are joke because they help each other .
US ,France and British are joke because the help each other .
Indians say Pakistan is joke because it received tons of oil and dollars from Saudi Arabia to complete its Nuclear program .

The whole thing is that :

Every country in this world have Military allies and Political allies to help each other .
and we are proud of our allies .

The joke who fail to Protect his country and its people !

the Stage of security in Saudi Arabia is higher than in Pakistan and many of the countries , we travel in Saudi Arabia from south to north and from west to east at any time Alhamdoulillah without fear of anything .

The last thing that I want you to know it , is NO body helped us for FREE ! :-)
We payed billion of $ to get what we want and defend our selves .

Finally ,we say " tanks" for Allah Nobody else , because No one did a favor for us all that was by a Cost .:-)

Well there you go. Saudi officers like that create a bad image of your armed forces. Their superiors back home are also to blame for their unprofessional behavior.

Another thing we must consider here is that Saudi Military is not battle proven and hence the doubts.

It's been many years since I was an advisor to RSAF but I do know that it has become a force to be reckoned with. Any country with 311 upgraded F-15 eagles, including large numbers of "E" models, 72 Eurofighter Typhoons, and 120 F5E Tiger II's in reserve, all backed up by AWACS, aerial refuelling, an integrated computerized battlefield management system, etc., well, that is an air force that a country would think twice about before taking it on in a fight.

lool Saudi arabia military capability?:cheesy: Its true Saudi arabia has money to buy the best type of weapons from us in the west/U.S. However, im afraid thats where the story ends. Saudi Arabia doesnt really have a strong local industrial/manufacturing/industrial complex/industry to manaufacture weapons on their own, without our help/support/TOT. Unlike say Turkey, Iran and even Egypt. Giving the amount of cash Saudi Arabia has, its indeed surprising their leaders aren't investing in creating the necessary foundations needed to produce such weapons indepedently(yes it will take time, but in the long run its worth it, than taking the short route buying wepons overseas without a proper plan to reduce this dependence in future). You need to have your own local defence industry which can keep on churning out war machines in time of war, since it may happen one day that we dont agree with Saudi arabia policies and sanction them in case they go to warwith a country. In that case what will Saudi arabia do? since it can produce these weapons without our help/spare parts?

So yes Saudi Arabia has a mordern military backed by billions of dollars of cash(they recently overtook even my country to become the worlds 5th largest defence spender) but that doesnt means they are a strong/credible force, they are yet to prove themselves in a real mordern war. In fact even unstable Pakistan will decimate them in a war to be honest. Im not bashing or undermining Saudi arabia, Just making a point.

So will be good for Saudi Arabia to invest more in science, Education, technology, manufacturing, industries etc. This will help them more in long term

.
Saudia needs a strong Air Force and it has one however a stronger Army without a functioning democracy will inevitebly lead to a military coup just like in Egypt and Pakistan
