Saudi Arabia bars Nigerian planes carrying Pakistani arms

. .
wow this is something new.. i wonder which armoured vehicles these were?

Which tanks bdw ? There was no information about the sale of tanks to nigera on IDEAS. then what is this ?

HIT was trying to sell Dragoon IFVs to Nigeria n KSA... or could be one of these : Talha, Hamza IFV (Armed with 30MM canon etc) or Maaz (Equipped with BS ATGM).

Or AZ:

The state-owned Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT), which makes armoured vehicles and body armour, exports its Al-Zarrar tanks to developing countries including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Nigeria.

Better to take services of ships for that as it will reduce the cost as well.

So arms from other countries are fine then?
Whats with this decision?
@Al Bhatti can you please confirm?

it seems bs

No one on this forum claim to be privy to Pakistan´s military secrets, other than club of faithful.
I would be surprised, if any unfaithful could answer your query!
What ever is posted by faithfuls and their allies, should not be discussed further.

Let´s see if Mr. Bhatti can break the record by leaking some inside news, from the decision making process.

We should use, what we like... costs should be paid by the buyer.
However, i´m wondering that news has been leaked on media and ISPR is quite! very unlikely situation.

Saudi Arabia bars Nigerian planes carrying Pakistani arms - TOI Mobile | The Times of India Mobile Site

ACCRA (Ghana): Saudi Arabian authorities have refused to grant over-flight permits to Nigerian cargo planes carrying military equipment including armoured tanks from Pakistan which Nigerian authorities have procured in order to fight the Boko Haram rebel group, media reported on Monday.

It may be recalled that IANS, quoting Pakistani officials in Abuja early this year, reported that Pakistan has pledged to support Nigeria in its fight against the Boko Haram.

ThisDay newspaper reported on Monday it had been informed by the country's intelligence sources that the decision by the Saudi authorities was certain to cause a diplomatic row at a time when President Goodluck Jonathan was eager to end the insurgency in the country's northeast before the 2015 general election due to be held in February.

President Jonathan, the newspaper said, has "given the green light to the military authorities to procure arms from alternative sources such as Pakistan and Russia other than Nigeria's traditional allies led by the United States of America, United Kingdom and France."

It said this was because of Nigeria's displeasure with the US after the country blocked the sale of American-manufactured Cobra attack helicopters from Israel.

"With the position of the West, Nigeria decided to turn to the East, chiefly Pakistan, from which the federal government was able to procure a huge cache of military hardware needed to prosecute the war against Boko Haram," ThisDay said.

"We got permission to fly through Sudan and other countries but have been blocked by Saudi Arabia, which has impeded the urgency of the operation," the newspaper claimed it had been told by intelligence sources in the country, adding that, "owing to Saudi Arabia's refusal, the only alternative is for Nigeria to ship the armament by sea, but using this as an option would take much longer".

Unfortunately, intelligence sources told the paper, "if we resort to shipping the arms via the high seas, they would reach us well after the election which may be too late for the desired impact, especially now that we have the insurgents on the run".

ThisDay claimed that when its reporters drew religious undertones in the Saudi authorities' refusal to grant the flight permits, their sources said they were not certain "but would not rule it out."

"Nigeria has always had close ties with Saudi Arabia, but with a war that has a religious slant, we may not be able to rule it out. But what I can say for certain is that this would lead to diplomatic tensions between both countries," the paper quoted intelligence sources as saying.

Ahhh so... its again the toilet news.

Flight can be re routed or equipment shipped instead. KSA might have its reasons and we have our own.
What are our reasons of selling tanks to Nigeria ?

. . .
India is a British creation that is 67 years old and a former British colony and everything that went along that.
KSA was created by Ibn Saud who conquered all other kingdoms, emirates, sheikdoms, sultanates etc. in the part of Arabia that later became known as KSA. Never was any single part of what is now KSA a Western colony nor did they create anything. The only thing that "they" did (read Americans) was to create a alliance with the House of Saud. The House of Saud (I am no fan of them) already ruled large areas of modern-day KSA (Najd) long before Westerners gained a foothold in the ME.

Back to the school books.

Keep telling yourself that to feel better. Historical facts will remain historical facts.

KSA has never fought against Israel. We lost no wars.

That's not "me". That's a moronic law that got created in 1990 which nobody supports other than a few hardline clerics and their supporters.

In pre-Islamic times Arab/Semitic women were queens (in fact some of the oldest recorded queens in history originated in our lands), ruled empires and did 1000's other things than your example.

I don't know about anyone inventing any new religion but I know that Islam originated in Arabia and so did the notion of Sunnis and Shias and Sufism. All historians know that. Maybe not PDF clowns.

Anyway you apparently did not get my message.

Al Hasani when we look at Saudi Arabia we want it to be the center of the muslim world, much as you see it as you claim its influence is greater than the Roman Empire. But much of the world doesn't see Saudia that way. Partly because Saudia and even my country Pakistan are literally slaves of the US. On the other hand local laws are extreme, Wahabi interpretations.

If you Saudis be more open to criticism then we can discuss the founding principles of the nation or even the entire Islamic world. Have you heard of the concept of Ijtehad. It was a concept where scholars sat and discussed religion... not only that but with a very liberal view. They started with "I may be wrong but so and so..." not with "My nation is infallible."

Some of the posts on such topics may indeed hurt since you have inherited the national identity which you have come to respect, and are Arab for quite some time. It can greatly help if someone looks critically at the ummah and nations in it. I would say the same thing to @SOHEIL about Iran. If we do not take offense to small things and trolls all people of the muslim world can work together. Also try to be critical and objective. I visited a forum pashtunforums and the abuse there against Pakistan is severe. But I was also pushed to learn a lot on that site.

Note we have nothing against Hejazi people but you must admit the ruling regime not only turned a blind eye to but participated in slaughtering many muslims and certain policies are indeed weird if not directly supportive of fundamentalism. Furthermore laws like women can't drive are radical. On the other hand there is much we can learn from Saudis too.

Saudi's of the past were only a group of squabbling tribes and historians cite many brutal wars between various Arab tribes. Good thing is, in the Saudi of today such ethnic or tribal identities do not exist... as they do in Pakistan or in Nigeria as you stated.. so its a constant learning experience. People might dislike some policies of Saudi Arabia just as many would hate Pakistan... but that is life.

.
No,,the weapons will be used against boko haram,,and for some mysterious reason saudis have problem seeing it happen.
Because they are the no 1 terrorist sponsoring nation in this world .Boko haram too probably got Saudi support

. .
Clearly a Saudi Arabian or other Arab male must have satisfied their women in a way that they were unable to do hence all the crying.

Ask your fourth mother , U are my child, Son ..and damn she was happy to have U my little Hindu offspring :)
Proud of ye , now do `ghar-wapsi` :)

So the shipment is stuck because saudis refused the airspace?-

And the only other option they talk about is via sea-

Cm on its not the end of the world- re route-
unless you want to make an issue about it-

@IND_PAK help yourself-

They don't to see their Boko Harami brothers being butchered by Pakistani weapons.

Maybe irate Amrika dont want to see their Christian brothers in Nigeria fighting with Muslim weapons against their secret regional allies Boko Haram?-
Amrikas secret ally- ISIS also comes into mind-

Maybe more logical question is what amrikan influence on Saudis has to do with this decision?-
Surely when amrika say Day its a Day in Saudia-

Frankly speaking its too bloody confusing. Boko Haram is a strange organisation, its leader sound and look more like a mentally ill patient rather then a religious person. What is their purpose? They are against education? They don't want Muslims in Nigeria to receive western education.
