Saudi Arabia’s air defense forces said that they intercepted a ballistic missile over Riyadh on Wednesday while another scout drone that targeted the border city of Jazan was also stopped.

Spokesman for the Arab Coalition forces fighting in Yemen, Col. Turki al-Maliki, said that at 7:40 am local time, air defense systems were able to detect an unidentified object in the direction of Abha International Airport and was dealt with accordingly.

Maliki said that after examining the debris of the object, specialists of the joint coalition forces said it was found to be a hostile Houthi aircraft with Iranian characteristics and specifications that were trying to target the airport protected under international humanitarian law.

With all its military might, why is the Saudi Kingdom so incapable of taking out Yemeni ballistic missile sites? I mean how pathetic can Saudi Arabia be?

The kingdom has the most useless military anywhere in the world by far, even armed forces of much poorer and weaker nations perform much better. (But don't stop praying for America to save Saudi Arabia though).

Wow, so much BS..
Why don't you go visit Yemen to see how mountainous it is.. it is worst than Afghanistan in that regard.. but obviously, you just seem to be another complainer with no substance to add to a thread apart from own distorted opinion..

Come in brother, where are the Saudi cruise missiles and ballistic missiles?

Back in the late 1980s, the Soviets handed over thousands of ballistic missiles to Afghanistan, some of which were fired towards and landed in Pakistan.

As a result, Pakistan acquired the missile tech from China and North Korea to make sure its never in a state where another country would dare fire ballistic missiles on Pakistan.

In 1990, Iraq fired ballistic missiles on Saudi Arabia. What did the kingdom learn? Nothing other than that the US will always come to save Saudi Arabia. Pathetic. A blind king's blind vision has lead to a strategic blunder for Saudi Arabia.

Even heavily sanctioned and broke Iran has managed to ensure nobody would dare fire a ballistic missile towards it but all that Saudi Arabia can do is try and catch as many Yemeni ballistic missiles as possible.

Did Pakistan ever fired missiles back at Afghanistan?
The same applies here.. would you fire missiles randomly at population centers and mountains where Houthis hide?
It is not a practical as might seem to see it..

OT:
In fact 3 ballistic missiles and 2 drones were intercepted by Saudi air defences.. where is the US protection in this?
Does it mean that every country using F-16s seeks protection by the US.. Non-sense my friend..
